Tiny gay musician Laura Hollis works at a yarn store owned by Lola Perry and frequented by scientists and frat boys alike. Broody gay poet Carmilla Karnstein needs some yarn to make a terrarium hanger. Crafty Cafe owner Danny Lawrence asks Carmilla on a date. Things get tangled quickly.
Carmilla is a tired sound engineer with some baggage. Laura is a musician still trying to figure out what to do with her life. Maybe all they need is to find each other to help them get to the next stage of their lives by making music together.

The Karnstein gallery of Art is co-owned by Carmilla Karnstein and tattoo artist JP Armitage. Just before a big show of JP's work Carmilla illegally spray paints the side of a new truck owned by Laura hoping to break a severe case of art-block and stress. Carmilla tells her to prove it.
