Written in collaboration with MarvelMaster616: After the plane crash that led to the deaths of their mother and father, Scott and Alexander Summers get taken in by D'Ken and the Imperial Guard of Chandilar. D'Ken trains the young boys into becoming his soldiers, grooming them to become his most loyal Imperial Guard members known as Cyclops and Havok. Meanwhile, on Earth, Jean "Marvel Girl" Grey of the X-Men has her life shaken when not only her tragic past comes back to haunt her, but the tragedies of her life compound with the loss of a close teammate, leading to her receiving a calling from a strange, cosmic force which promises to bond to her.

Steve is used to the ghost that shows up every year around Halloween to haunt his school. What is different is the new kid, Tony Stark, and the angry ghost that keeps trying to kill him. It doesn't help that Steve is the only person who can help him. Also, Tony is really cute.

Mother looked so human, then. The look in her eyes, and the downwards tilt of her mouth, and the silent, greedy breaths she took. A heart broken, but still beating. When you’re a kid, you take aliveness for granted. You’re eight years old and your parents will never die or leave or hurt you, and you will be young forever. It will always be a summer’s day and your mother’s arms will always hold the whole world and the stardust between your fingers will never slip away.
Jim is young. Too young. But there’s no forever about the woman sitting in the kitchen, and there are no tears left in him. There’s an empty space that’s been ripped open, and the gravity has tilted.
He’s young. But he’s old enough to know that things like that never really matter.
Or, Jim Hawkins grows up, older, and maybe a little bit wiser.
