When he was a child, there wasn’t any time for that, not when he had the whole family depending on him. And by the time he’d grown up, there wasn’t really any point anymore – he had a job, he’d had a wife, for a time, and then he’d sort of started a family of his own. (And, yes, Wu Xiaowen isn’t actually his kid, and Mo Sanbi is probably one of the furthest things from a wife that a person can be, but they are an addition to his family, two people who are impossibly precious to him.)
Qiao Yicheng is the kind of person who feels most comfortable suffering in silence. But it’s just the strangest feeling when someone else wants to suffer with him.
