Billy has some new tricks up his sleeves.

Billy is shuffling cards around now and Steve thinks about maybe a puppy. He always wanted a puppy growing up but his parents did not think he was responsible enough. Steve thinks he is responsible enough now and Billy is around enough to help, Steve picks a card from the deck glancing at it absent-mindedly before putting it back. Maybe a cat would be better, they are less dependent and they kill bugs right? A cat could take care of the spiders and Steve would not have to shout for Billy every time, not that he is much better with bugs than Steve. Steve tries very hard not to laugh when Billy messes up the card trick, shuffling through ten cards before he finally finds the one that is Steve’s.
Billy is good at doing the fancy shuffles through and Steve watches his thick fingers nimbly shuffle them, pushing them up in an arch and he squirms a little heat in his belly. He gets distracted by his own thoughts again as Billy drops the cards to the table, putting his colorful checkered back to Steve as he sets up his next trick. Steve thinks of Billy with a cat, he thinks it would be a good fit and Billy is always here so the cat will have plenty of company.
