Summary

"Oh, she's such a talented little girl." Xie Lian said. "Really, San Lang, how did we get so lucky?"
Hua Cheng turned to him with a bright smile on his face. "I've asked myself that ever since I met you. I'll never forget the way you were dancing naked in the firelight, and then the next day, riding side-saddle on that bull."
Literally just an Addams family AU nobody asked for, but I'm here to serve it anyway.

Xie Lian feigned a contemplative look. “Oh, who knows? Probably trying to figure out how to enter the world wide web or work a VHS machine or one of those other newfangled things…”
“Huh. Well I think he’s still out there, using his powers to help orphans!”
Xie Lian sniffed, then ruffled Ban Yue’s hair and pinched her cheek. “If you say so, Ban Yue. But remember, it is just a story. Xie Lian isn’t real, and neither is Halloweentown.” He clapped his hands together. “Okay! Time to go to bed! Granduncle Hua’s gonna go do some scrap collecting, alright?”
(Only, before Xie Lian can go scrap collecting, he's called on an important mission to Halloweentown, and, instead of going to sleep, Ban Yue follows him for the adventure of her life!)

One of Hua Cheng's caterpillars stows away on Xie Lian, who unwittingly smuggles it off to Puji Shrine for an impromptu sleepover. Before he can return it to its home in Paradise Manor, the little creature goes into its cocoon, and mustn't be moved until it hatches.
And then, of course, the gossip train gets totally out of control until everyone thinks Xie Lian got knocked up.

Until he can take back what Jun Wu has taken from him he has to play the role of a proper consort, even if it kills him.“You’re not fit to be my left-hand,” Jun Wu tells him kindly. “After watching you those last months, I know you wouldn’t enjoy it.”
A thumb brushes his lips, and the horrifying truth of what’s in store begins to dawn on him. When Xie Lian tries to escape, Jun Wu’s grip turns rigid. “Don’t try to run,” Jun Wu reprimands him gently. “It’s not a good look for the future consort.”
