Now, as Salem's forces rise to threaten humanity again, and Ozpin's new chosen defenders suffer defeat after defeat, what few of their members remain must gather whatever strength they can to hold her at bay just a little while longer. Maybe this time they'll remember not to underestimate the lethality of good intentions.
This fic picks up just after the beginning of volume 7 and will go from there, with about a 50/50 split between canon and original characters. also, while this story portrays both the battles against Salem and their aftermaths in a pretty dark light, I do intend to give it a happy ending.

Him and the boys liked to joke about each bomb they encountered being a nuke, trying to keep up the pretense of childhood in a war-ridden area. Things seemed much simpler when they were pretending that the bombs inside their homes were nukes from God, exaggerating reality to the point of utter ludicrousness.

Use only the secure comms, don’t leave Naboo unless absolutely necessary for the Senator’s protection.” Anakin nodded against Obi-wan’s shoulder and they finally separated.
