Ignis was one of the few who knew that Noctis had survived the Marilith attack at the age of eight, and one of the very few who’d not had a memory spell cast upon them to forget the fact. At the age of ten he’d pledged to the King he would never reveal the secret, and he’d kept his word. But to do so he’d had to promise to not seek Noctis out on his own, to not put his best friend and prince in danger.
Now, twelve years later, the King had asked Ignis to go in person to assure Noctis was safe, was well—and Ignis’s heart had leapt in his chest.
