Galen's a 15-foot extraterrestrial and member of one of Yellowstone's professional search and rescue teams; Holly Mendoza's a 29 year-old "runaway" just getting her new life started in Montana. And while a broken leg in the Beartooth Mountains brings the unlikely pair together, it's when they discover a shared isolation and bitterness between them that they decide to stay in touch.
She finds it easy to open up about her baggage to the near-stranger, but she knows far less about him than she thinks... and it's all Galen can do to keep from telling her the deadly secret of who he really is.
Little do either of them know, though, that it doesn't take full disclosure about extraterrestrials to throw everything they know into chaos.
This is a work of SERIAL FICTION! Meaning, I update this regularly and often: every other Monday, in fact! This story is also posted to JukePop, and to my personal website.
"Someone needs to talk to that girl," says Helga, exchanging a glance with Rourke.
(Mole bounces excitedly around. "I will do it!")
"Someone with good people skills," puts in Vinnie.
("I will do it!")
"Someone who won't scare her away." Sweet nods.
("I will do it!")
"Audrey. Thank you for volunteering."

The bat towered over him. "What's your name?"
He didn't want to answer the shadow. He knew his voice would come out too high, too soft. He could already see the detective's eyes cataloging him. His small frame, his slight features.
'Well, fuck him,' Jay thought.
"The name's Jason," he said with a cocky grin, "Jason Todd."

"Remember when I had the flu back in high school and I couldn't wear my binder for like a week. I was a wreck." Jason pondered.
Bruce looked away from him as he spoke, eyes drifting across the room. "I remember when you were feverish and I tried to make you soup because Alfred was away. You called me 'a useless rich man' and then made it yourself."
"I stand by my word," Jason laughed but it quickly turned into a rough cough. He croaked out, "You are still a useless rich man."

“It just feels weird,” Jolyne mutters. “Unbalanced. Like two points of a triangle. I don't know.”
“Two points of a triangle is a line,” Hermes says, because she got an A in tenth-grade geometry.
(F.F., Jolyne, and Hermes's relationship, told in reverse.)
