Summary
Every human as a companion called an Aatma, supposedly the physical embodiment of their soul and a companion who came into being for survival purposes. However, Light Yagami is in an unheard of situation where his own Aatma, Ajal, is not like him, and the two have an abnormal disconnect in their bond.
Finding the Death Note, once his fears are subsided by Ryuk, Light decides to change the world, with Ajal's guidance keeping him from straying and losing track of his goals. This change leads to Kira having better rational thinking and foresight before taking drastic actions and being more merciful on those trying to catch him.
As time goes on, he eventually learns that his rival, the famous detective known as L, has a similar disconnect with his own Aatma, Feie, who also acts as his voice of reason when not screaming invariably. And eventually, this, among other factors, leads the duo to form an unlikely bond and maybe even change the world.

Last night, I encountered the Jack/Elsa pairing for the first time in a beautiful fan music video, listed as my inspiration here, and I was blown away. This little story in Anna's perspective is my first try at expressing what I feel. Written in all lowercase as a stylistic choice, to emphasize softness and the brand new, hushed feel of Anna's moment as she watches her sister and this new, kind boy start to fall in love. First in my open-ended Jelsa series 'Snowflakes.'
