Summary
More than anything else, David wants to believe he's not sick because that means he isn't crazy. It means he can fall in love and live happily ever after. But if he surrenders to that hope and he's wrong, then there's no coming back.
The Shadow King is victorious, but the battle for David Haller’s soul has only begun. David fails to escape Division 3's intervention and is forced into therapy. With his relationships ruined, his mind split, and his past a lie, death seems like the only choice left. But Farouk is pulling the strings to keep him alive. As David's friends and family work desperately to save him, David must reclaim his past and present to avoid losing his future to the monster who destroyed him.

Everything I Know About Writing the Loudermilk Twins by Rockinlibrarian

Summary
I just wanted an excuse to talk about them, okay?
So I blabbered out everything I could think of.
It's like a show bible, but for my own fanfic. Or your fanfic too, perhaps. This is canon, assumed canon, headcanon with evidence, wild theories, and occasional random opinions. It's the Unified Theory of Loudermilks. Everything you've ever wanted to know. Or, everything I've ever wanted to know, at least.
Agree? Disagree? Just want to talk about them, too? Leave a comment!

Summary
I was a little annoyed at the show for just abandoning the Birds in the desert, with just an off-hand Astral suggestion that they were "hidden. safe. somewhere." Of course, it was obvious when I thought about it that there was at least one person, in particular, who would have truly made sure of their being safe. And so here's where I spell out that he did.

Summary
In his attempt to save the world, David forced Switch to bring him back in time to before he was abandoned. If he could just change one little thing, it would all work out just fine. But it didn't go that way.
Appearing in the past alone, David was unable to support his own existence, forcing his body to explode into a swarm of goldfish. His mind, on the other hand, was able to survive only by taking refuge within the mind of his infant self. A mind which already had another suitor. But David isn't one for sharing, and within this other reality, he finally - finally - had his revenge on that parasitic monster. Leaving him to do as he pleased with his younger self.
In this case, he was very interested in taking over his body to, well, Save The World, but as it turns out, his younger self isn't too interested in being overtaken by some foreign body. But that can be changed, right?
-----
In short, David went into the past to Fix things but instead accidentally took Farouk's place as the Demon In His Head. What follows is a story I'd called a Fuck-It, which branches into an AU-ish.

Two (or Three) Mutant Freaks and the Strictly Scholarly Collaboration by Rockinlibrarian

Summary
When I started writing this collection of Oliver-and-Cary-as-childhood-friends AU stories, I thought “How does Melanie fit in?” But I’d already started writing “A Strictly Scholarly Collaboration” and I couldn’t see THAT happening any other way. The question really became, “How would CARY fit into THAT story, if he and Oliver were already friends?” And so, as I wrote both sets of stories, I kept writing these bonus scenes— the scenes that would tie the origin-story-of-the-future-Mr.-and-Mrs.-Bird and the Childhood Friends AU together.
Although coinciding with Oliver and Melanie’s romance, these scenes are more about the burgeoning friendship of they-who-shall-become Summerland-Generation-One: what happens when Oliver has a sensible friend to talk through his new experiences (and be a good wingman), and when Cary’s around to experience Oliver’s wild pre-Melanie years in the first place; how Melanie gets the wrong end of the stick about Cary, repeatedly (it’s a many-ended stick); and Kerry, well, is Kerry! (I will continue to regret that Oliver and Kerry never got to actually interact on the show. What a waste of great character chemistry!)

Summary
Having a psychic horndog for a best friend can really complicate a poor guy's sexual awakening (or lack thereof).
You know, in a normal universe where they clearly didn't know each other yet as teenagers, this all would have been a lot less awkward.
Maybe not that much less. I did write that one already.
