This is heavily-based on the book 'Disaster at D-Day' by Peter Tsouras, due to me being a fan of his WW2 AU stories. I'm also a great admirer and deep respect for Erwin Rommel, the man who in real-life was well known for leaving an unparalleled legacy of humanity and chivalry on the battlefield. Also, his Afrika Korps was never accused of ANY war crimes and treated their POWs humanely. And when he was implicated in the failed July 20th Plot to kill Hitler, Rommel was given the choice to commit suicide in exchange that both his wife and son would be spared from the Gestapo. And to this day, many people in Germany considered him as a patriot to his country and not a Nazi.
