Summary
In an alternate universe where there are two genders (male/female) and three designations (alpha/beta/omega) life could be better for an 'o'. Federal law states that any child born to an unmated omega can be claimed by the sire, no questions asked. This is how John Winchester gained custody of his youngest son, Adam, who he took on the road with his older son, Dean.
Dean and Adam were enrolled in a boarding school that trains young alphas to be hunters. There they meet Sam Campbell, who is the grandson of Samuel Campbell, a very powerful official in the Federal Department of Hunters. Sam and the Winchesters became friends, until Dean presented as an omega and was expelled. He continued hunting with his father while Sam finished school and went to college for a few years before coming back to the life.
Now all grown up, Sam and Dean hate each other. Or do they...? One night, a hotel room, and a Lord of the Rings drinking game are about to change everything.

Summary
Dean and Cas grew up next door neighbors and they’ve been best friends their whole lives. Cas’ mother Naomi, heavily and vocally disappointed in her son’s omega designation, sells him to some mystery alpha. Somewhere along the way they had become best friends. After a lesson, walking out of the classroom, one of the football jocks had grabbed Castiel’s notebook and tossed it up in the air, spreading a hundred paper sheets across the floor. Everyone had just walked by, ignoring it. Everyone but Jo.
“Do you have hand spasms?” she’d said to the jock, quite composed, getting a sly smile in response.
“What?”
“I asked you if you have FUCKING HAND SPASMS?” (not quite as composed).
“Uh, no-“
“Then get on the floor and pick up those papers!” Her raised voice had attracted a little crowd, and soon a teacher came along.
“What’s going on?”
“We just ruled out that Michael the Jock here doesn’t have Parkinson’s,” Jo explained to the teacher, a few chuckles spreading around the crowd.
“None of that nonsense now, Joanna.”
“NONSENSE? He’s learning some fucking common decency!”
To sum it up, she’d ended up in detention, Michael the Jock had been allowed to leave, and Castiel had ended up with a friend.(A Destiel fic, don't worry)

But Castiel believed that he would never find a mate. Despite the heaviness in his heart and the hurt, he had come to accept his fate. He was destined to die without anyone to love him.
One day an announcement that Dean Winchester, the son of the high alpha John Winchester is looking for the perfect mate.
Castiel watched with sadness as all the beautiful unmated omegas in his pack excitedly readied themselves to impress the alpha at the formal banquet this Saturday.
