Summary
"Show me," he would say. He would tap his foot impatiently at any hesitation, glaring up at you. You would try too hard to avoid looking at the scar splashed across his face.
Freshly banished, Zuko makes his reluctant crew show him how things work on the ship (and in life?).

Summary
Prince Zuko is banished, given an old warship, a subpar crew, and is stuck with his tea-loving uncle. Three years of searching for a long dead myth and causing problems is all it takes for his crew unwittingly forms bonds with each other and their stubborn charge. The more they try and get used to living with each other, the more things change in a world they didn't know could. Things happen, and, well, they might just become legends. Slight AU.

Summary
The Gaang encountered many different people and a lot of them were influenced by the interactions. Some more and some less directly.
This started out as a collection of one-shots about these people and now includes various AUs. Some of these are inspired by other works. I will, of course, list these at the start of each chapter. -

Summary
Fire. Air. Water. Earth.
The sages used to tell stories of the old days: a time of terror when the tyrant Avatar suppressed all people and divided the land between the Fire Nation, Air Nomads, Water Tribes, and Earth Kingdom. But everything changed when Sozin’s comet allowed the Fire Nation to fight back. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, stood in the way of a prosperous and united world. But just when we almost managed to defeat him, he vanished.
A hundred years have passed, but the world cannot truly be united until the Avatar is found. Three years ago, my father entrusted me with a sacred task: to find and capture the Avatar, and thereby redeem a great shame and failure of the Fire Nation. And although many believe this is an impossible task, I still have hope. I still believe that, somehow, I will find the Avatar and restore honor to the Fire Nation and to myself.
***
AU where the Avatar Spirit left Aang in the iceberg and was eventually reborn in everybody’s favorite grumpy fire prince.

Summary
Aang tries to fix everything wrong with the world. Zuko tries to fix everything wrong with the Fire Nation. Azula tries to control everything. There are mixed results. In book 3: Zuko leaves the Fire Nation Palace to meet up with the Gaang a lot earlier than planned. Including shenanigans involving the dangerous lady trio and their interesting interpersonal dynamics, Zuko and Azula's messed-up sibling relationship, Jee not being sure when he filed for adoption, ridiculous haikus that are not clues, spirit journeys, a horde of disgruntled old men arguing using flower codes, Hakoda meeting all Katara's boyfriends, and the Gaang being a loving found family. Zutara happy ending.

Summary
It hurt to move. So he didn't.
He didn't move when they forced him out of the infirmary. Not when he was put in chains. Not when they dragged him away.
It hurt. The smell of burnt flesh that he could still smell after months. the blackness of an unseeing eye. the muffled sounds to his left.
And after it all, Zuko thought of his father's last words to him-
You will learn respect and suffering will be your teacher-
what a shitty teacher. -

Summary
It was inevitable that Ozai's fate would be brought up during their peace talks, but Zuko couldn't have imagined what the conversation would come to. He had hoped that Aang's choice to spare his father would have been enough, but it wasn't. In the face of opposition from all sides, and a lack of trust from his own nation, he only has one tactic he can use.
Telling the truth.
Many a fic has done it, but I'm going to do it as well, combined with some of my favorite headcanons, hopefully a bit of originality, and no understanding of how to properly title something.

Their warriors were hiding from the winter night's cold and Tui had taken her leave. The drake was coming and they wouldn't let him down.

Summary
[ He drinks the tea and tries not to look uncomfortable as Zhao moves closer and closer. He doesn't know how, but somehow every time he blinks the man is closer. He should say something, but what? He’s not actually doing anything wrong. (He should move closer; Zuko is his prince, and he should be hanging on his every word. It was perfectly reasonable.)
If Uncle were here, objecting would earn a stern look and a proverb on the nature of politeness and being receptive to your conversation partners.
Zuko says nothing.
Zhao is next to him now. He rests a hand on Zuko's thigh.
He wants to say something, but his head feels like it’s stuffed with cotton and his tongue won't work properly. ]Wherever Zuko goes, Zhao always seems to be there, smirking & offering him tea. He doesn't want the tea-that-is-not-just-tea. But he can't explain why to his uncle, or tell him that the very thought of tea makes him want to scream (in rage, not fear, because princes don't feel fear).

Summary
The Crown Prince disrespected the Fire Lord (long may He reign) and forfeited an Agni Kai. Ever just and merciful, the Fire Lord forgave His loyal son and elected to send him to the colonies where he would learn respect and governance.
Alas, the Crown Prince never reached his destination. On the way to Yu Dao, the dishonorable Earth Kingdom and its allied Water Savages slaughtered the poor young prince and his crew, dooming their ship to the heathen deity La. Thus, for this great act of barbarism and provocation toward the Children of Agni, the Earth Kingdom and the Water Savages must suffer the Fire Nation’s wrath a millionfold.
This is the official account told by the Fire Lord, recorded by his scribes, fed to his people, and spat on his enemies.
A young scribe in Gaoling knows a different story.
(Or the Scribe Zuko AU where Zuko deals with his issues™ through tons of writing, Toph smashes her parents’ expectations in between reading lessons, Iroh brews the best tea in Gaoling while running a secret Pai Sho club, and Azula indulges in cryptic tales by a treasonous author.)
