    Summary

In a catastrophic post-1929 Boston, the stock market crash and violent, unpredictable weather have dissolved the young nation known as America. Replacing it, a new lawless world rises, the nation-state of Independence, run by elite families who have the cash and clout to keep their grip on the survivors of the Crash. Andrew Minyard and Renee Walker, private eyes and owners of the Fleet Foxes Detective Agency, are the law, solving crimes in exchange for making their livelihood. When Andrew meets Neil Josten, jazz singer and objectively handsome man, he feels himself falling- into the realm of a new mystery, one that he isn't entirely sure he's prepared to solve, and a case that could radically change Independence forever.

    Summary

Flug wasn't exactly your average person, but from his perspective, he led a reasonably normal life. Sure, he comes from a distinguished family and works as an inventor of all things, but he wasn't exactly someone you'd see on the streets and go "Look! It's Flug!" He lived the same way any ordinary middle-to-upper-class American did in the 1920s. He worked hard all day and then partied just as, if not harder, at night. Minus the partying, of course. And if you asked him, it was becoming rather dull. It didn't seem as though any fancy jazz club could fill in what his life seemed to be lacking, either. But this was the roaring 20's! Where was the electricity in his life? The adventure? Didn't he deserve some excitement, too? But Mr. Slys soon discovers that you should be careful what you wish for when he befriends a certain man one fateful night and grows fearful that he may have just bitten off more than he can chew.

    Summary

Being a poor man in the Roaring Twenties was tough. It was even tougher if you were a Chicago Korean. Struggling to get by at a prestigious Midwest college, Seunghyun thought he knew that better than anybody – at least until one boozy, jazz-filled night in a South Side alley: the night he met the low-born and high-priced Kwon Jiyong. And then he realized he knew nothing at all.

*With Prohibition in full swing and the Chicago Outfit poised to take control of the city in a storm of political corruption and gunfire, a chemistry student and a rich man’s plaything fight to survive and thrive amid the throes of unrequited love, racial tension, and the chaos accompanying the rise of Al Capone.*

Rey sets her gin down on the mahogany desk and stares at Ben.
"You want to bring me to Millennium Island? You've gone mad. Your old money friends would chase me out with pitchforks before I ever managed to catch your art thief. Which would be highly unlikely to begin with, given that I have no plausible reason for being there. The game would be up the minute I arrived."
Ben leans back in his arm chair, his eyes hooded, and takes a long drag on his cigarette.
"Not if you agreed to marry me."

    Summary

Welcome to Los Angeles 1926, the peak of the Roaring Twenties!

Wealthy adopted brothers, Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers, return home to the Stark Manor after graduating from boarding school. They, and their hoard of friends, have three months of absolute freedom before beginning their freshmen year of college. In an era synonymous with the Jazz Age, Prohibition, flappers, speakeasies, gangster crime, and sexual liberation, it only gets more interesting for Bucky and Steve when they entangle themselves in illicit affairs with the two newest foreign housemaids: Wanda Maximoff and Natasha Romanoff.

Inspired by Titanic, Downton Abbey, The Great Gatsby, West Side Story, and several Mexican telenovelas about social class divisions. Titled after the popular 1926 song I'm Sitting on Top of the World sung by Al Jolson. Rating will go up and warnings will change as story progresses.

The Great Gatsby AU no one asked for. I'm basically working paragraph by paragraph from the source text. If I finish this it will literally be a novel, so here's hoping. I started this in August hoping to finish it before publishing, but it turns out having readers keeps me from abandoning something for months at a time. Feedback welcomed although you'll have to take up some of the flaws with Fitzgerald and not me.

....To unlock this door with the key of imagination, beyond it is another dimension, a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. ....You're moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas, you just crossed over...., into the Twilight Zone.

....Hollywood 1939, amid the glitz and glitter of a bustling young movie town at the height of its golden age, the Hollywood Tower Hotel was a star in its own right; a beacon for the show business elite. Now something is about to happen that will change all that.

The time is now...., on an evening very much like the one we have just witnessed, tonight's story on the Twilight Zone is somewhat unique and calls for a different kind of introduction. This...., as you may recognize is a maintenance service elevator still in operation...., and waiting for you.

    Summary

The Great War and Influenza all but decimated the world of force-sensitive people. The Jedi were all but annihilated, and schools across the globe shuttered their doors. Ben Organa was sent on holiday by his uncle, in an effort to bring him out of the depression the War had buried him in. The suggestion of Monte Carlo was an odd one, but none the less, he went.

Reyes Andor once hoped to attend Jedha, the Jedi Academy in England. Her father, Cassian, had taken her to the gates one day as a little girl and told her she would go. After the War, the school closed and the dream was dashed. Now, with her parents gone, she works as a companion to Mrs. Antilles, and hides her Force sensitivity. They've been in Monte Carlo for nearly a month and she can already tell that her employer is growing bored.

Then Benjamin Organa walks into the dinning room.
