Every year The Atlas departs from Earth. It's a huge ship, and only 15 to 20 people are allowed onboard every year. It's open to people of all walks of life, so long as you can prove yourself worthy for the chance to reach the stars.
For Lance, each and every time The Atlas docked was an opportunity to go to space, and every time it took off without him was an opportunity lost. The Atlas is his best chance of getting to the stars, and he wont waste another year on Earth.
For Keith, the Atlas is his chance to get away, to find a place where he truly belongs without having to worry about others getting in his way. It's also a chance to punch Shiro in the face after stranding him here.
For Pidge, joining the Atlas is her ticket to following in her dads footsteps and seeing her dads creation in action. The Atlas is a marvel to behold, and to be included on one of it's voyages is a dream come true.
For Hunk, a chance to go beyond Earth is a huge stepping stone for expanding the culinary world. The Atlas is known for coming back with many exotic foods, but it's claimed by the upper class long before it can reach earth. Joining Atlas gives him first pick. -

Little did Keith know, Shiro wanted that someday to be in a year. Soon the questions were “What d’you want to eat if you went to Japan?” - “Oh man, everything honestly.” to “Do you want to stay at an airbnb or a hostel.” - “Hostels are fine. They’re cheaper.” to “What color luggage do you want.” - “Uuh...red?” to “Do you want a window seat or an aisle seat?” - “Window?”
It was cute, even if Shiro felt a little bad.

It might be time to get invested in a serious relationship. He tells her about his former ward and genuinely opens up to her. And the sex is amazing. But his schedule as Batman has him making up a lot of excuses for his disappearances. There are problems at WayneTech when an aggressor tries to ruin some big plans. Jada's past could be more of a problem than he thought.
