Jin ZiXuan hated the idea of being engaged to Jiang YanLi, someone he barely knew. When his mother told him that Jiang YanLi will be at GuSu studying along with him, he thought it would be the perfect time to find a reason to break the engagement.
Not only did he find out that Jiang YanLi was a wonderful person and falling for her more every day, he somehow got entangled with Lan WangJi, who for some reason, is head over heels for Wei WuXian, the gremlin head disciple of YunMeng Jiang. Since they were pursuing the siblings, they decided to help each other since they were useless on their own.
Cue misunderstandings, awkward flirting, and a whole lot of sass.
(Follows novel-verse, but I really like the idea of shijie having a sword and joining her brothers in GuSu; Meng Yao and Wen siblings are not included sorry ☹ )

"Hey." Lan Wangji blinked, expressionless. "Are you hungry? I was about to start dinner."
What a perfectly normal way to open a perfectly normal conversation. Too bad Wei Wuxian was about to shit all over it.
"Does anyone else know?" he blurted, instead of a simple Yes. "That you're a camboy, I mean." After that, the rest just came tumbling out. "It's gotta be a closely guarded secret, right? I gotta be the first person you've ever told. Except maybe your brother—oh, Lan Zhan, does your fucking brother know what you do for a hobby?"
"Wei Ying," Lan Wangji said with the patience and silent exasperation of a thousand moons, "everyone knows."

In a veritable stroke of luck — or something like Venus in retrograde entering Scorpio as Mo Xuanyu would probably say — the freshmen on the Cross-Country team aren’t called in for practice on Friday.
Featuring running in the rain, kissing in the rain, and the inherent sexiness of wet shirts.

Wei Wuxian got into running mostly to channel his wayward energy into something moderately productive. He didn't expect to be podiuming for it, certainly not for an NCAA division I university to be offering a free ride through college for him to run with them.
Lan Wangji just wants to get his 400M hurdles to be less than 50 seconds.
And possibly a chance at the Olympics.
And then he sees the new Foot Locker champion -- a freshman, apparently a prodigy, apparently just 17 -- at the Cobb Track, and maybe he wants just a little bit more.

"Sing for me," Lan Wangji murmured, the words coming out before he can stop them.
The other man blinked. "Huh?"
"Sing for me and I won't tell anyone."
One late night grading papers leads to Lan Wangji discovering Wei Wuxian, who likes singing in an empty lecture hall so he can keep his voice a secret. In a rare moment of selfishness, Lan Wangji promises not to tell anyone, but only if Wei Wuxian sings for him at night.
(Or, Lan Wangji falls in love with a voice. Later on, he falls in love with the singer.)
