Summary
Sizhui couldn’t remember a time his parents didn’t fight constantly. He vaguely remembered them still married. He remembered when they all lived in the same apartment. They fought constantly, from what he remembered. Then one day, when he was four, Wei Wuxien packed his bags, packed Sizhui’s bags, and they left. But after less than a month, he moved into a house with Lan Zhan and they told him that he was going to be living with Father while Dad went somewhere else. At first he had been upset about his parents not being with him all the time, but as he grew up, he understood why.
His father and his dad were absolute morons.

About six hours ago, Jin Ling and his friends graduated from high school. That makes them technically college students now, which means it's time to make stupid decisions with alcohol.“You would need alcohol to have fun,” Jingyi says, standing up from the fire he’s successfully started, “because you’re stuck-up spoiled gremlin.”
“Jingyi, don’t be mean,” Sizhui says at the same time that Jin Ling says “You’re just saying that because you’re too much of a coward to try it.”
“I am not!” Jingyi stomps over, rips open the case, grabs a can of lukewarm beer, cracks it open and immediately shotguns the whole thing.

Summary
Another doctor enters the room; a young woman that was of last resort due to her age and experience. But no stone would be left unturned in this situation. Silently, she pulls back the sheets and examines the incision; uneven and recovering from infection. It is clear that it was done in a hurry by someone with limited or no experience. Putting the sheets back in place, she gently takes his wrist from Hanguang-jun’s hold and pauses, counting carefully in her head. Then, she checks the strength of his core. “For a cultivator of such an esteemed family, why is his core so weakened from the last time I met him? Without a significant core, it will be very difficult for him to ever recover.”
“Take mine.” Lan WangJi says without an ounce of hesitation.
“I admire your selflessness, Hanguang-jun, but there may not be enough time to fully transfer your core, and a sliver of it would not be enough.”
“What if more than one person transferred part of their core?” Jiang Cheng jumps up. “Like two people or even three? What then?”
“Such a thing has never been attempted, not even by Jin GuangYao, so I do not know…”
“If a core transferral is possible, then why can’t two do it? Isn’t it worth a chance?”
