Summary
Set in Oxford and elsewhere. Early 1970. Terror strikes at a choir practice. Similar destruction follows. Morse and Lewis set to work. Political escalation leads to disaster. The police struggle to bring a stop to the horror.
This story is in line with my previous stories, and follows after “Fire.” The stories, in order, are as follows: “Shadow,” “Union,” “Eagle,” “River,” “Paradise,” “Fire,” and then this one. "Athena" and "Monument" are outside the sequence.
A precinct is a term for a police station.
I made up a name for Joan’s aunt. If I got it wrong, someone please let me know. I will post a corrected version of the story.
There was no TV show named ‘2000’ in 1970. I made it up. EMTs are ambulance workers.
I am not trying to encourage violence with this story, just depict it as a crime. Please note this page on IRA weaponry: https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/ira/inside/weapons.html
I have taken ‘artistic license’ with some aspects of the U.K. government. Please forgive me for any errors or excesses.
Story contains foul language, graphic violence, and sexual situations.
I hope you enjoy the story.

The sheets of the guest bedroom were too familiar by now, the unique smell of this home’s clean laundry, the firmness of the mattress, the rough of the clean bandages on his sensitive skin, and the particular firm stitching and wrapping that felt like a Debryn signature.

Summary
This is a difficult story. It's very dark. I considered not publishing it, but I spent a long time working on it.
It's another non-linear, non-canonical story. It takes place toward the end of the fourth season, and has no connection with my other stories.
I use a mixture of American and U.K. slang terms.
Some events have been changed, as to where they appear in the usual time sequence.
The story begins at the time Endeavour went over to Joan’s flat, and Joan mentions that he never “tried it on” with her.
I have taken “artistic license” with some characters. I added Robert Lewis and George Fancy to the story. I have also invented a name for Supt. Bright’s wife.
Note the last paragraph here: https://www.inbrief.co.uk/offences/assault-gbh-abh/ Also, community service means: Unpaid work, intended to be of social use, that an offender is required to do instead of going to prison. (https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/community_service)
There are scenes of foul language, graphic depictions of violence, and sexual situations. Story contains the death of one minor character and one major character. Thanks for reading. Hope you enjoy.

Summary
This is an ‘Alternate Universe’-type story, set in late 1968 and early 1969.
Plot does not connect to my other stories. There are several departures from the canon, both from the TV show and the Colin Dexter books.
Takes place in Oxford. Begins before the shootout in “Icarus.” I have rearranged the scene a bit. Some new characters are there, some old ones are not.
A ‘regular’ soda is the old word for ‘medium-sized.’
A tam o’shanter is an Irish hat, somewhat like a beret with a puff on top.
The Museum of Modern Art (in) Oxford opened in 1965. I don’t know if they had glass sculptures in the early exhibitions. Maybe they did.
The Oxford Botanical Gardens charges admissions today, but I don’t know if they did in the late 1960s.
Yes, it’s a fantasy, ultimately, but so are all my stories.
Thank you for reading them. I hope you enjoy.
Please note: story contains graphic violence, sexual situations, and foul language.

No matter what you subscribed to, there was one undeniable fact: Anything that was born would eventually die and they would only live on in hearts and minds.
Except, of course, for the times when things died… and stuck around.
Which was how Detective Sergeant Robert Lewis found himself bound to the ghost of his freshly deceased governor, the ever ornery DCI Morse.

Summary
Set in Oxford, in the second half of 1969. A building burns to the ground. The circus rolls in. Endeavour’s relative pays a visit, for the first time in years. A baby boy needs a christening. Unwelcome gossip causes Joan to take drastic measures. Lewis and Valerie have a big day ahead. Also, there’s a cat. The Seventies are just around the corner.
‘Elkwood’ was not a real drama show on the air in 1969. I made it up.
Please note: story contains graphic violence, sexual situations, and foul language.
Thanks very much. I hope you enjoy the story.

Please forgive my relatively simple knowledge of cricket.
Featuring the standard main characters, and some new ones. I have invented some names and locations.

Any errors are mine.

Set in Oxford, in the spring of 1969. The city is bracing for a boat race between Oxford and Cambridge. DCI Thursday considers retirement. Jim continues his stint as the acting replacement for Thursday. Endeavour and Lewis are not prepared for very dangerous situations. The year rolls on.
I added middle names for two main characters. I haven't heard these names mentioned on the show or in the Colin Dexter novels. If I got it wrong... somebody let me know. :)

Summary
Set in Oxford, in early 1969, after the close of “Union.”
(Please note, I have no idea what the actual geography of Oxford is like. I just imagine the Tolkien papers, if they have any, being kept in some library, at some college. Forgive any errors.)
A robbery sees the loss of key papers from the Tolkien collection. Morse and Lewis follow the trail from the crime scene, to the Eagle and Child, where the Inklings used to meet, to neo-Nazi ultranationalist groups. Illness threatens the peace of the Thursday household. Endeavour and Joan have a rehearsal to go to. It’ll be a busy season at the Thames Valley PD.
Warning: some foul language, graphic depictions of violence, and graphic sexual situations.
Also, story contains the death of a major character.
I have again invented some names and locations.

Debryn held Lewis in silence until the climax of the ranted speech resulted in him mouthing a silent yet perfectly synchronized pantomime of Morse shouting, ‘We should’ve gone to Italy!’

Summary
Set in late 1968 and early 1969, around the beginning of series six, and right after the close of “Shadow.” A new detective joins the Thames Valley PD. Someone in Joan’s life comes back for a visit – with sinister results. Endeavour and Joan are tested early.
I have invented a maiden name for the future Valerie Lewis. If anyone knows what her actual premarital surname was, please fill me in.
Also, I have no idea where the good hotels are in Oxford. As before, I have invented some names and locations.
Warning: some foul language, sexual situations, and graphic depictions of violence.
Thank you. I hope you enjoy the story.
