It was a little surprising, to have himself wishing for human contact when he tried to keep those desires at bay, and pretend he didn’t need it. Sure, he often felt lonely, but he never actively thought of a way or a specific person to fix it.
He wouldn’t have admitted it to anyone, but he wanted Usami to be there. Him, more than anyone. Just talking about whatever came to mind, smiling like he always did, giving him a reason to smile back. (...) -

The more time keeps passing the more Tsurumi is becoming aware that Koito’s obsession with him is located too much on the possessive side for him to feel comfortable about it. But to appease outside forces he needs to rely on Tsurumi can’t simply follow his urge to just start avoiding Koito entirely. Trying to stay optimistic Tsurumi keeps telling himself that maybe in time matters will work themselves out into a more harmonic fashion.
