Summary
“Izumi,” Aang says, “this is—”
“Hi,” Zuko says.
“—this is Zuko, and this is Sokka.”
Izumi looks at them critically, pushing her glasses up her nose. She has a sharp face and sharper eyes, and her knees are dusky, like someone who spends a lot of time kneeling with a book at the side of her bed. Not that Sokka knows anything about that.
“Hey,” he says. “It’s nice to—”
“Can you pop the trunk?” she asks Aang.
“Yeah, sure.” He fiddles with his keys and Izumi swings the pillowcases in with casual violence, like she’s throwing bodies to the ground.
“Okay,” she says. “Let’s go.”

Summary
"Prince Zuko," Iroh began, but the prince wasn't having it. He stormed away, not sparing his battered sparring partners a glance (he'd already bowed at the end of their match, anything else was unnecessary). Before he knew it he was in his quarters, flinging sparks from his fingers and hissing steam. When that passed, he aggressively lit his meditation candles and tried to calm down. It was difficult because unlike combat meditation came easily, which added insult to injury. Gentle flames licked the air and formed in his palms as well. They were warm and soothing, unlike how fire was supposed to be. Instead of stinging his skin with small burns, the flames numbed the scraps on his palms and the aches in his joints. He knew that by the time his meditation ended he would feel invigorated and new.
His heart burned with shame; no wonder father had discarded him. There was no greater disgrace than having a son who was a healer.

Summary
Book one ends with two major diffrences: 1. Sokka went on the mission with Hahn (it did not go well) 2. Zhao survives the North Pole and that proves unfortunate for everybody (except Zhao, obviously)
Imprisoned on Zhao’s war ship, Sokka and Zuko have to work together to survive. They are not very enthusiastic about this prospect.
And they argue.
A lot.

Summary
He had no time for such letters and he needn't to read it.The letter was sent from Iron. when his son was still sailing, not running around with the Avatar. pitching the bride of his nose, Ozai grabbed the tea cup before sipping. He glared some more at the wall of his office before the candle melted as the flame grew more and more with each irritated breath he took. What was that letter anyways ? ' probably related to Zuko' A voice whispered in his ear.
The voice was right. It was probably about his son who had also betrayed him and his nation.
Ridiculous.
He was "not" going to read that letter.
( In witch Zuko is raped by Zhao. Iroh had hoped that Ozai would be a father and respond. Protect his son because Zuko had been far too damaged. And Ozai doesn't read the letter but now after two years, he found it on his desk. He doesn't know what's going on and that letter might just change everything. )
Side note : Zuko already joined the gaang and talked with Iroh. Iroh is in White Lotus and preparing. Sozin combat is two years away by the way, so Aang and the others still have time to prepare.although it might not even need preparation, if only Ozai would stop being a bitch and read that shit. -

Summary
Belief is a powerful thing. It is what raises civilizations, empowers rulers, inspires and drives humanity through many hardships, but belief is a double edged sword in this manner. When enough people believe, they have the power to change the world, or to kill a single man without lifting a single weapon.
When the whole world believes that Zuko has died, the Fire Prince begins to lose his grip on the living world and starts to drift into a spirit void as he steadily loses himself. As each anchor in his life breaks and sends him forward to the afterlife unknowing of the young boy's existence in the mortal world, Zuko discovers that a terrifying spirit tale from his youth had a merit of actual truth to it. Who are you when the world has abandoned you to a slow painful death of being forgotten?
Is he doomed to become the Blue Spirit or will the stubborn skepticism and paranoia of a certain water tribe boy be Zuko's last chance at survival?

Summary
The concept of balance has never struck Zuko as something he'd understand.Iroh brings it up once after the siege of the North Pole, mentioning the moon and ocean spirits being the koi fish in the Spirit Oasis. They circle each other in an 'eternal dance,' his uncle calls it. Zuko frowns at the mention, only remembering battling the Water Tribe girl over the Avatar.
The second time is when he and Aang are facing Ran and Shaw. As they do the Dragon Dance, the prince can't help but notice how they circle each other so perfectly, two parts of a whole.
Even when he and Katara start to call each other "Sun" and "Moon" as they cuddle on the Ember Island beach, the connection still isn't made.
It's only in the midst of the Agni Kai with Azula, feeling her lightning go past him, that he realizes just what his uncle meant all those months ago.
One cannot exist without the other.
Zuko wasn't fast enough to redirect Azula's lightning.

Summary
When Zuko gets banished, he does not wait for Iroh, not wanting to cause more damage than he has already, and decides to hike it on his own. He manages quite well for the most part. He is on his own, living, doing whatever it was that needs to be done, when he accidentally ends up saving the Avatar. No big deal, or at least, it wasn't, until he gets roped into joining their little gang of misfits, and then actually begins to care for some of them, despite their idiocy. He just...doesn't know what to do with that.
He does know that they can't know who he really is....

Summary
Zuko undid his ponytail, raking his fingers nervously through his dark hair.
“I want to take you to see someone,” he said hoarsely. "My uncle.”
“Huh,” Sokka said.
“What do you mean, huh?”
"I thought you didn't keep in touch."
“Well,” Zuko said. “We don’t."
“So, if I have this straight,” Sokka said. “The plan is to just show up in New Mexico after seven years and introduce him to your boyfriend.”
“Kind of.” Zuko smiled weakly. “Surprise.”

Summary
Zuko realizes his destiny much earlier. As in, as soon as he wakes up in the palace after his Agni Kai and is told he is banished. Unfortunately, he's never been a patient one. So he storms right up to Ozai and tells him what he's going to do. And gets locked up for over three years. Then, one day, he's being pulled out and told he's the new Fire Lord.
A "Zuko never meets the Gaang and suddenly becomes Fire Lord after three years of literal torture" AU. In which the Gaang doesn't know what to think of the new Fire Lord who happens to be the missing nephew of Aang's firebending teacher, Iroh constantly has a headache, and, sure, maybe the world hates the Fire Nation, but the Fire Nation LOVES Zuko, and he can work with that.
