    Summary

Phryne and Jack moved their partnership to the boudoir well over a year ago. They traveled the world together for almost a year before returning to Melbourne. Things have been... fine... really. No, they've been great. So, why is Phryne so unhappy? She meets a young nurse in Mac's hospital who desperately needs a clever savior. Things aren't as simple as they seem, though, and what was thought completely reliable is suspect.

This is also part of the MFMM September Trope Challenge "Don't Believe the Rumours" (the aspects of which were always planned, but lucky me, fit the trope!)

    Summary

Twelve months of tropes with Miss Fisher - from soulmates via bottle episodes to time and space and far beyond!

This is a non-fiction fanwork, where I discuss the tropes from the MFMM Year of Tropes; the different ways the tropes are interpreted in the fanfics; and what this brings to the analysis of Phryne Fisher and her world.

The overviews mention all fics that are published within the challenge - and the challenge is open for anyone who wishes to join, no restrictions! Hope you enjoy - and that this might inspire to some sleuthing among the fanfics! (and maybe some writing too)

    Summary

When you can’t trust yourself, whom do you trust?

“I think I’m losing my mind.” Brock’s voice was hollow, like the thought alone didn’t make bile rise in his throat. “I can’t even tell if I’m dreaming or not.”
“Calm down, you’re fine. Of course you don’t know if you’re dreaming, you’re barely awake. You’re gonna be just fine in the morning.”
It sounded… well, tempting to believe in. Could he believe it? His gut told him it wasn’t that simple, but could he really trust himself anymore? And if he couldn’t, who else was there to trust but Jack? Jack who always looked out for him, who saved his life time and time again? Jack, who currently suffered from a minor head trauma and was the best liar – maybe apart from Pierce – Brock knew?

The plan was simple: go to Scotland, eliminate the target, come back home. The mission went smoothly. It was the coming back that was the problem.

    Summary

And so it was, that, after not being in the same hemisphere for three months and then actively avoiding each other for the two weeks they had indeed been in the same one, Phryne Fisher and Jack Robinson, brilliant detectives, found themselves irremediably locked in the oh-so-very-cold cool pantry of the Fisher estate. As a lucky bonus to the dire situation, they were both in their pajamas.

    Summary

Having had some success writing stories for a women’s magazine, Dot is considering taking up a career in teaching. She has been introduced to the idea of ‘automatism’ by Phryne’s friend Miss Charlesworth, and decides to experiment on Phryne, Jack and Hugh. The assignment is to write a story with the prompt:

    “We need to get warm.”
“At the South Pole they recommend skin to skin contact…”

Jack is fairly sure Miss Fisher must have had a hand in the choice of that prompt.
