Beiste is well into her forties, and already a divorcée, before she discovers the terms “aromantic” and “asexual”, but soon, with a push from her happily married demisexual friend Emma, she’s leading her own Lima chapter of a meet-up group meant for people like the two of them – people who fall on the asexual spectrum. Marley is happy to have a group of people to talk to who understand what she’s going through, as her romantic relationship with Jake and her friendship with Unique have both been complicated by her own recently discovered asexuality. Meanwhile Kurt, who also falls on the spectrum, has been attending NYADA. He is happy to be exploring polyamory with a bisexual Blaine, and he’s writing a musical. When he returns to Lima, he stops by the ace meet-up, and in the process stumbles across just the people he needs to help him make his musical into a commercial success.
Disguises were never Pidge's forte. She's not very good at them, at least not compared to her parents, and especially to her older brother, who blended in seamlessly with other humans, and could even make himself look like the Galra. Despite Allura and Coran's encouragement and help, she still can't get them down.
Matt's got disguises down, and unfortunately for him, that's not all. He can harness quintessance as a power, much like Haggar and the druids. And he's sure she knows about it, putting him in danger, as he's barely managed to keep himself hidden as a human with his abilities, he's still afraid that someone will rat him out.
Until the Paladins show up, and Matt is freed. Now, it's up to Matt to master his wild abilities, and Pidge to learn the art of disguising herself.
