Was ever woman in this humour woo'd? No, frankly. But for Anne, turning from Lancastrian widow into Yorkist wife is a smart move, and doing so with apparant reluctance a smarter one yet. There was a prior agreement - two, really, one between children at Middleham who thought they were in love; and one between adults in London who understood that love has nothing to do with it.
Richard knows all there is to know about gaining power, but what to do with it once it's his? For that he needs a wife who understands pragmatism and survival. And had their son lived, he might just have had the sense to realise it.

When brainstorming unlikely crossovers, I came up with Richard III/A Midsummer Night's dream.
A young lord Richard feels the world is unfair and harsh, though a visiting fairy tells him otherwise. What choices did he make that led him to the path of vengeance and lust that we know so well?

Summary
Ever since the mysterious death of the White Hart, England has been under the rule of the House of York. (The Mortimers, of course, did not take kindly to this.) Amidst all the faithless slaughter marring the realm, only the House of Lancaster has remained steadfast in the cause of the crown. But the descendants of John of Gaunt are red-blooded creatures. And Henry of Windsor, fourth Duke of Lancaster, is no exception.

Ever since the Yorkists’ first barque took to the air, it had been nothing but trouble for the House of Lancaster. How speedily those wooden birds soared, and how accurately they shot down royal commanding officers! Something had to be done. There were plenty of wizards around in this godforsaken country, after all.

Summary
Ripped from the pages of A Midsummer's Night Dream!
After enchanting Titania to fall in love with Nick Bottom and forget the changeling Indian boy (Baalak), Oberon sends the likewise enchanted shape-shifter on a quest through parts of Planet Shakespeare (Shakespeare's other plays; including, As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing & I Henry VI, respectively) to gather various objects (macguffins). His final task is to deliver the items to the Weyard Sisters (from Macbeth) to brew into a potion for use against Oberon's oblivious rival, whom threatens the peace and tranquility of the Fairy Kingdom and Planet Shakespeare entire.
