When Team 7 Is fighting Kaguya in the final battle, Something happens, and Kakashi is transported into a different reality where Obito lived and Kakashi died.
All his life, from birth to whatever the hell was going on now, Kakashi has lived a life of suffering and pain, finding little reasons to keep him going so he wont end it all. When he awakens to see his former team alive and well, and most certainly shocked to see HIM alive, he is shown what it would have been like if he had died instead. As the former Team 7 sees just how truly broken Kakashi is, they try to put him back together.
Meanwhile, Although Kakashi is happy to see them, he just wants to get back to his kids!

Kakashi runs into Sasuke everyday leading up to Christmas, whether he wants to or not.He also begins to unravel the mystery of a memory, comes to terms with his love for the winter season, and may just find that he had far more parental tendencies than he once thought. Iruka says he's always had them, it just took a kid he cares about for him to find them.
My excuse for wanting to right something sweet and sad all twisted into the holiday season!

Shisui writes words to his soulmate, the one who never writes back, as if he were writing in a diary. Itachi sees him, tongue trapped between his teeth, as he works on a winding message that takes up both arms. It is lucky for Shisui that he is ambidextrous, Itachi thinks. It must not be so lucky for his soulmate though. Maybe it annoys them. They never reply to anything, but Shisui is stubborn.
Itachi’s soulmate always replies to him. Itachi draws birds with painstaking carefulness on his pale limbs. He gets grinning sharks in return, always. He wishes he could make them stay a little longer.
