Both Stiles and Derek are caught in an attack that sends them through time and space. Luckily, same time...not so same space. They both try to get home by whatever means possible but after a while with nothing to go on, they begin to assimilate into the lives around them.
They reunite...at Downton Abbey of all places. How? Well, Derek works there as a footman and Stiles is visiting because Martha brings him along from America. Stiles was working with Harold but he doesn't like traveling, and Martha didn't want to go alone.
(Takes place in season three of Downton Abbey)

- Part 148 of Downton Drabbles
A Downton Abbey missing moment story.
"The Bride and Groom." Tom repeated, and everyone turned in surprise. He and Sybbie had arrived just in time to toast the newly weds, unannounced to the family at the end of their journey from Boston USA, but how had they got there. This is a story about that journey, the people they met on the way and a return to the home and family they had yearned for.
"Those English, his wife says. They cling much too firmly to tradition. Give it so much power over them. I am glad we are more enlightened, understand that tradition just isn't worth that.
And Isidore (not Israel, never Israel, not for some years now) Levinson quite agrees.
(Except when he doesn’t. But he never tells his wife of those times.)"
A character study of Isidore Levinson, father of Cora Crawley (née Levinson), and what he left behind.
I'm not as sad as I should be. That's what makes me sad. The Titanic sinks, Patrick dies, and rather than wait at home to meet the new heir of Downton, Mary tries her luck in London, where she meets Sir Richard Carlisle instead. [Alternate S1]
