In the modern era, Tanjiro struggles to communicate his experiences with his friends no matter how they're separated by language or culture. His reality can seem stranger than fiction, and it's sometimes none too kind. By the time he decides to change careers and start something new, the damage is more than skin-deep. Maybe he doesn't need fixing, but being away from old friends for so long probably isn't helping.
What may have happened if the characters wrote their own stories, but reality was stranger. Though it meant something to Tanjiro, he clings to the thought that none of it was real.
Highly introspective, the prologue covers a gap of 20 years from the finale, from Tanjiro's perspective.

The original story of the game focusing on the halfbreed Mirai Ikutashi (ie: the Heroine) who can be a savior or the destroyer of both the Demon Slayer Corps and the Demons, depends on the route what the player takes. Originaly she joined the Ubuyashiki family as an adopted daughter but she harbor a deep secret: her half-sister Kohina was the actual member of the family, but their father killed both Kohina and her mother to Mirai replace her as a mole. Her original destiny was a blood filled happy ending either with one of the pillars or an Upper moon demon.
But what happen if her older half-sister regain her previous life memories before her demise was set, and know the game routes? Of course she takes action before her death!
*in this universe, demons can walk on daylight, but only in their human form and their power was ceased due the sun.

Each step brings another throb, like it beats to the snow crunching under his feet.
The ache becomes unbearable the closer he approaches, and he’s near gasping for breath as he reaches the path that’ll lead him to their house. And with it, comes a terrible, oppressively dreadful feeling.
Like a string being cut, the pain ceases when he looks up.

Tanjiro Kamado had closed his eyes for death twice in his lifetime. He was happy and contented as he knew it was time for him to reunite with his family to the other side.
Further back, Senjuro Rengoku has lived his life well. He pursued medicine and became a great doctor. He goes to sleep that early that night, expecting to open his eyes the next day for tomorrows' big day. Both men from different timelines expected what they thought would happen next, except, it wasn't. Tanjiro snaps awake as he starts hearing noises getting louder and louder only to realize his little brother, Takeo is looking down on him. Senjuro Rengoku blinks awake from his father and mother, and big brother cooing at him. This two confused guys tries to "awake up-from-this-dream" with outmost care but, eventually realizes that nothing is a dream.
