Summary
When Buck returns after the lawsuit is resolved and endures months of an unexpected form of abuse at the hands of his crew, he starts to wonder if the things they say are actually true. Unable and unwilling to bring his sister greater trouble, he reaches out to the only other family he has left, his Uncle Owen and cousin TK, in the hope that they can help him put his broken pieces back together. And when it turns out that TK needs just as much help as Buck, Owen comes up with a plan that just might help him carry both his boys to a safer place.

Judd smiles when he sees Grace standing in the truck bay when their engine pulls in.
“Hey, Gracie.” He greets leaning in to kiss her as he pushes down that nagging voice in his head telling him that something is wrong. That Grace very rarely comes to see him at the firehouse without the baby. “Everything okay. Where’s Lily?”
“She’s fine. She’s with my mom,” Grace replies, biting her lip. “When was the last time you talked to Buck?”
Judd thinks back to their last text exchange. Something about a dead author and a treasure hunt that had the whole city going mad. “The day before yesterday? Why? What’s going on?”
“Have you seen the news?” Grace asks
Judd shrugs. “No why?”
“There’s…a LAFD firefighter was shot. They’re saying it was a sniper.”
No. No way. Not possible.
“A sniper? What?” Judd sputters, shaking his head. “That doesn’t make any sense. Why would anyone---”

Judd and Grace go off the bridge and are both fighting for their lives, bringing the team back to the hospital all too soon. The couple gets some good news of their own and can't wait to tell the team.
