Summary
In this world, there are no copies of shipgirls. Only a single one may exist, and a single Commander has been put in charge of the joint fleet. Yet the kansen leaders hold themselves above such service, and choose to maintain their own fleets, giving the Commander only the ships he needs to perform his duties against the Siren threat.
The Eagle Union, Royal Navy, and Iron Blood reserve the best ships for their own security. The Northern Parliament have entrusted but a single shipgirl to the Commander, and his funding is woefully inadequate, his position considered to be largely ornamental, a sign of cooperation between nations.
However, the Sakura Empire has invested far more resources than any other nation into the fleet, and often sends some of their best ships and equipment to aid the Commander. Now, they would send someone to test his mettle, a result of a recent engagement with Sirens and a near-war over a number of wisdom cubes… This Shiki-kansen would test his mettle in battle.
Yet… that wouldn’t be the end of things for the two of them…

Summary
They have a safeword and hand signals set up, and Lio trusts Galo to use them if needed. But he can’t help feeling a little uncertainty mixed with the anticipation. He doesn’t want to screw up. He takes a deep breath and clenches and unclenches his hands a few times.
Then he reminds himself that he’s Lio Fotia, former demi-god and leader of the Mad Burnish. He’s broken out of a maximum security prison, he’s turned himself into a flaming dragon and terrorized a city, he’s powered the cursed heart of a doomed spaceship.
Compared to any of that, lovingly destroying Galo Thymos should be easy.
