We all live in an imperfect world. Sometimes it is dirty and ugly. Even so, look closely and you will see every face of beauty, hear every voice of love. True drabbles, WIP.
Garnet avait dédaigné l'oracle affirmant que Pearl lui mentirait.
With relationships she never needed nor wanted crystallizing around her, Peridot discovers that emotions are sticky, tangled things that are going to come with a price no matter what she does. And when one day the ocean boils over with the long-forgotten secrets of an ancient war, and a color-coded spectrum of mysteries forcibly unearths itself to face something that threatens a planet she's only just grown to feel a part of, she'll find that the price may be higher than she ever could have imagined.
(Currently on hiatus until I finish Copper Star)
History repeats itself endlessly, with surgical efficiency. The Ouroboros gleams inside the very fabric of space; after one has lived through several millennia it is easy to commit and relapse into old mistakes. Gems, like humans, are creatures of habits. Like humans, they do not learn their lessons nor are they divine. Every few centuries, Garnet will give in and Pearl will get in too deep. She’ll clutch at the taller gem with steely hands, she’ll cry into her skin, she’ll scream I don’t want to live as me, I can’t do this anymore, I won’t, please... I can’t. And Garnet will say okay. She will kiss her brow, and nuzzle her nose against her gem. Okay. It’s alright.
Sardonyx will open her eyes.
[A very verbose study on their relationship after and before the whole "Sardonyx debacle"].
