Draco’s attention was his at once.
Half-closed amber eyes glanced at their hands, then turned to look at him.
“Do you…” The man cleared his throat. “Do you still long for death?”
“No,” Draco replied gently, “I do not. Or at least not as much as I had. Life is miserable and full of suffering but sometimes…” He closed his fingers over the knight’s small hand and smiled. Bowen’s heart fluttered. “Well, sometimes it gives you good things, too. When a knight and a dragon cross paths, good can come off it. For both of them. And maybe even more…”
