It all started when a dragon landed outside your barn.

The order of dragonriders has changed a lot over the years. Nowadays they are called heroes, doing everything in their power to help people and do good.
Izuku Midoriya always wanted to be a hero, but he constantly was told that he couldn't. It was logical, everyone knew why. You can't be a hero without a dragon, and since no dragon egg did hatch for Izuku... After a "conversation" with his childhood friend he decides to leave everything behind and goes on a journey that will change his life. There are more ways then just one and he won't give up.

"What are you doing?"
"I'm gonna save your ass."
"What?! Bakugou no, please."
"Half my heart to make you whole."
"Its strength to purify your weakness."
"YOU'LL DIE, BAKUGOU!"
"Live and remember your oath!"

Izuku is four when he first sees dragonflies near the river by his home. He heard of dragonflies before, it was hard not to know of them with how his village worshiped Dragons. Dragonflies were messengers of Dragons, it was rare they appeared near people or villages, and it was rumored that Dragons would be around where there were dragonflies.
Izuku is six, when the Head Priest of the Dragonic Temple takes him away from his mother and to the Temple. As a non-magic user, one specifically incapable of magic, it was a matter of time before he would be brought to the Temple.
He wonders about the friend he made in the forest as a child, one he can’t seem to picture but knows he met.
Then, he’s fourteen, and a black mark twists along his shoulder and upper chest.
The Mark of a Dragon.

The dragon took his stunned silence as an opportunity to unfurl itself and approach him. It moved until its snout was right in the griffin’s face and then studied the strange, half-feathered creature for a second. The dragon narrowed its piercing, blue eyes at the creature before it asked, “What are you supposed to be, anyway? Some sort of overgrown, mutant chicken?”
“What! I’m obviously a griffin!” He immediately snorted. Any reservations he’d had about the situation had quickly melted away. This dragon could’ve killed him by now if it was his intention, so it obviously didn’t plan to. Not to mention he had his pride and that comment was just plain rude.
