Summary
Jack did the easy part.
He rescued his dad from the Empty and brought along a whole host of other angels to boot. He came to an understanding with Amara and earned her respect. He set about reordering Heaven and settling disputes between the different afterlives. He established a new ethos of noninterference that would minimize unintended consequences and maximize free will.
Now he has to live with himself.
That’s the hard part.

A cathartic canon correction. After BuckLeming's 15x19, but Dabb's 15x20 doesn't exist. Mostly Dean and Sam just communicate.

Summary
Dean woke up on his 42nd birthday the way he had been waking up nearly every day in the last few months: an armful of white fur and wet kisses across his cheeks. When Miracle first came home with them Dean had made sure to get her a big, cushy, memory foam dog bed so that she would be comfortable, but it had taken all of three nights for him to relent and let her sleep pressed against his side. He liked having her there, hell, he didn't even try and hide it. He was trying to hide things less now. He was trying to be better.
He was trying to be the man Cas had told him he was.

Summary
When Dean and Cas get married, Dean is a human and Cas is an angel. But Cas had long ago stopped feeling comfortable as an angel and warrior of God and decides to Fall. Even though, Cas doesn't regret his decision to become a human he does worry about it affecting Dean’s feelings for him.
This fic is also inspired by Jensen Ackles' StageIt Panel where he said that Dean Winchester had never thought an angel could even feel love like that for him. And if Jackles says it, then I'll buy it.

Summary
He feels it now. Nerves striking up and down his body, his heart pounding against his chest and a weird tumbling in his stomach. His eyes finally reach the glistening blue ones in front of him, the same eyes he's always stared into for years.
The feelings now incredibly intensified, making Dean feel things he's always felt but now much more clear. He was ready; to be brave and speak his truth like Cas had. If he could do it, so can he. He's always learned from Cas, and that was never going to stop.

Summary
Chuck imagines what would happen if he could manage to retain his power. God's Will is strong enough that even as he becomes human, he is able to project his desired version of events with such force that it obscures the true out. The result? The Winchester Gospels fail to transmit to readers that Team Free Will did get their happy ending.

Summary
Dean was pressed awkwardly against a wooden support beam, his feet not quite flat on the floor. Cas was reminded of hanged men from those old cowboy movies Dean had made him watch, of bodies reaching fruitlessly for stable ground, stuck in suspended air. Dean’s eyes widened as he finally spotted Cas over Sam’s shoulder.
“Cas?” Dean’s voice was rough and wet with blood, staining his teeth crimson.
Sam turned at the sound, looking at Cas with the same slack-jawed expression.
But there was no time for greetings, no time for explanations. Not now.
...
In one of his first acts as God, Jack pulls Castiel from the Empty, but Cas is reluctant to return to Earth and face the consequences of his confession. But when Dean finds himself in danger and sends out an involuntary prayer, Cas can't help but reveal himself, forcing them both to pick up where they'd left off.

Summary
Jack bit his lip, looking every bit the young man he’d been on earth, about to tell his father something he really didn’t know how to say.
“You should head down to Ohio. There’s a barn just east of Canton, two miles outside the town limits. Sam and Dean were on a hunt, and… well, I think Dean needs your help.”
“Jack—” Cas started, but Jack interrupted, “I’d hurry, if you’re gonna go.”

Summary
Dean Winchester, and his brother Sam, are finally free to do what they want. No one is controlling them any more. No one is writing their story for them. It is all up to them now.
Quiet and peaceful days in the bunker. Living almost as if they were ordinary people, with ordinary lives. The only thing they had to worry about was stuff like laundry. Grocery shopping. Walking their dog, Miracle. Maybe do some research for a hunt, if they are up for it.
Living.
Dean can finally live his own life. And yet, he is nowhere near being happy. On the contrary, he is feeling worse than he has ever felt before. Learning that the one thing that Dean has dreamed about for years, the one thing that could make him truly happy, was always within reach for him - has left him more broken than he has never been before. The moment he learned this, was both the happiest moment in his life. But also the most heartbreaking.
Dean´s one wish in life has always been to be loved back the way he loves his family. Being loved back the same way he has loved Cas for the last decade. And now he has that.
He only needs to save his angel first.

Summary
Shortly after Jack had rescued Cas from the Empty and Dean had narrowly escaped being skewered by a fucking vampire mime, of all things, Dean cornered Cas in the laundry room. Cas was mouth-wateringly dressed in a casual pair of jeans and a plaid overshirt, doing his laundry. When he had turned to face him, Dean had let his eyes trail over the former angel’s denim clad thighs (he did not whimper, thank you very much!) and blurted out the lamest pickup line he could think of.
“That your angel blade in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?”

Summary
After 15x19 Cas accidentally blips in at the wrong time, revealing that Jack brought him back. From Dean's POV. (Not as sad as the title implies.)
Cas was different in every sense of the word.
He was a literal angel. A baby in a trenchcoat. Purpose incarnate. The most loyal friend a man could ask for.

Summary
I think we can all agree that the SPN writers did us dirty with the finale. In fact, I was so dissatisfied with it that I chose to rewrite it instead of doing school work. This is the result :)
Title comes from the song "How to Save a Life" by the Fray - it's basic I know.
