    Summary

"I...I can't believe it," she hid the shock in her voice and on her face as they stood in the room.

Her eyes were fixated on the blue crib in front of her. She never signed up for this; it was never part of the plan.

“I know!” the curled smile on his face was unsettling, the smile that was keeping a million secrets from her. “A baby, isn’t it great? Someone to carry on my legacy. He’s the luckiest boy in the world,” he sounded sickeningly happy, as if it was perfectly normal to have a baby thrusted into her arms.

"That he is," she smiled, the most fake sincere smile she could muster.

Nathaniel was always a little unhinged but this was madness.

She looked down at the tiny baby in her arms and tugged him closer to her chest.

Shaun. Said the embroidery on his blanket. Pre-named and pre-made.

She watched as his mouth opened just a tiny amount and he sighed out a silent yawn, his eyes opened for a split second and the sea of blue hit her. She had green eyes herself and she looked up to see Nathaniel’s hollow brown eyes look lovingly at her.

    Where are your parents?

Pure smut. Not really much backstory. Two chapters, the first revolving around Nora catching Deacon in a compromising position, the second revolving around actual sex. It's all shameless and it's not very well-written but it was fun writing it. Chapter 2 coming soon.

    Summary

“Traitor.” Was that Glory? “You goddamn traitor!”
There was a clattering as the inhabitants rose to their feet. Glory was standing between Dez and Wanderer, her mini gun drawn. She was about to fire when Wanderer stopped her.
“G7-81 initiate reset. Authorization code Beta 3 Cirrus.” Two sentences were all it took for The Posterchild of a Liberated Synth to drop to the floor, emotionless. Glory might as well have been dead.
Wanderer stood over Glory, disinterest distorting her face. She looked like she had just swatted an annoying fly. Her eyes were cold, the warmth - the hope they always held was replaced with contempt. Wanderer’s clothes were unnaturally clean, not a single blood stain or tear was in her flannel. Black hair tied back in a tighter bun than she normal. Deliverer was drawn, held casually at her side. A chill went down Deacon’s spine. Something was wrong. Very wrong.

    Summary

"What do you call the stick with the bowl on the end?" she asks, and Deacon raises an eyebrow.

    "Uh, you lost me, Boss."

"The thing you eat with. Like a fork or a knife but for soup," Clara says, and she's making the motion as if she's eating cereal while she's speaking, as if using the muscles will help her remember if she ever knew it.

"A spoon?" Deacon says it almost as more of a question, like he's unsure if that's the answer or not.

Clara snaps her fingers and grins widely. "Yes! Spoon!"

    Summary

A retelling of Deacon's final affinity talk with the sole survivor.
Its sad, its sweet, its this man not knowing how to process his feelings.
What an odd thing it was to be cherished by someone who does not know him, but here he was. Didn't she love him? Did he have any right to think that she loved him? She had said so yes, but was it in the same way she said it to Nick, or Preston, or hell, Dogmeat? He couldn't find any special meaning in it that differentiated him from the others, why did that make him feel disappointed?

    Summary

“No. No you’re good.” Her voice was small, she though it was silly she was getting flustered. It was just Deacon.
Wanderer’s hair was like silk, and it slipped between his fingers with ease as he began to cross over the strands.
“Technically I had a mom, but she died when I was hardly a teenager.” Why was she suddenly so nervous? “I don’t have many memories of her.”
“A part of me wanted to think pre-war folks didn’t have to worry about not having their parents.” Deacon asked before he could stop himself, he didn’t want to make her uncomfortable.
“You can’t really by looking at me tell thanks to my dad, but my mom was Asian.” She swallowed a tear before it could fall. “Dad always said she was too stubborn for her own good. Part of the reason I became a lawyer was for her.”
“Hold on,” He interjected, “Hair’s so dark I can see the different sections.” Deacon moved back from her; the soft click click of his glasses folding. Then he set them down to the side of them. Wanderer could see them out of the corner of her eye. She made the decision not to turn around no matter what.

    Summary

She's survived heartbreak, war, and the goddamn end of the world. But this shifty, smooth-talking "spy" with a penchant for making pre-war references in the most inopportune times might just be the death of her.

Or, the one where two double-edged people with enough baggage between the two of them to sink a ship team up in order to save the world. No biggie.

    Summary

“Missions to get a prototype that does what exactly?” She prodded, hopping to get more information about their possible death run.
He let out an exaggerated sigh in reply, “So I'll be straight with you, although you're not going to like it- I have no idea what the prototype does.” Deacon was animated with his hand gestures as they walked, maybe because he was in front of her, maybe he was nervous. “Us Railroad agents are treated like mushrooms; kept in the dark and fed… well, you get the idea.”
They reached a hatch that had been jarred open, it looked like it was kicked in from the other side. Her stomach dropped and she turned her light out.
Deacon wiggled through the hole, speaking as he did so. “Okay first step is to override the security lockdown.”
When she got into the room with him, Charlie found herself in a small dirt-lined chamber with a locked security door in from of her and Deacon to the side already tapping away at a terminal.
“Well, at least this bad boy is up and running.” He muttered, “I'm going to feed it some passwords and see what happens, sit tight.” He waved over his shoulder. Was he going to keep walking her through everything he was doing

    Summary

“Don’t know whatcha mean, I’m as cool as a cucumber.”
“Uh huh.” High Rise mumbled rolling a puzzle piece between is fingers, “By how you’ve been acting, it’s like you think she’s dead. Jalapeño got a strong ass stimpack in her and they say the blood transfusion should have worked. Wanderer’ll be fine.”
“I didn’t say the transfusion should have succeeded. I know it did.” A voice scoffed from their side. Jalapeño, Ticon’s very own version of Doc Carrington, was finishing cleaning up the makeshift hospital in the corner of the lobby.
Jalapeño was a lot more approachable than Carrington, but more in a Glory than a Wanderer sort of way. When Deacon brought Wanderer in through the elevator, it was Jalapeño who greeted them.
They had sighed, shaking their head and gestured to the gurney while rolling up their sleeves. Like a kid had just tracked mud through a hallway. “Put her down there and explained what you did.” A twitch in their eyebrow was Deacon’s only indicator that the situation was serious.

    Summary

“Who are you.” Codsworth spoke curtly. If he had arms, they would be on his hips.
    “A minuteman-”
“False!” The robot spun towards him. All three eyes shooting closer, like fingers digging into his chest. “You are not a minuteman! You were here months before Mum came back! Do not assume I did not detect your presence! My sensors art the highest grade and the highest calibre RobCo had ever crafted! You will not pull the wool over my eyes sir!” RobCo…not General Atomics?
“I’m a minuteman right now.” Deacon picked an eye, refusing to look away from it. “Probably be one again next week too.”
Codsworth scoffed, “Miss Charlotte has been through far too much to be toyed with by a- a vagabond such as yourself! I repeat, what is your name you delinquent!”
Oh, he needed to make a choice right now, an important one at that.

    Summary

The headache brought on by the florescent lights that surround her quickly began to kick in upon entry. There had to be one drawback to going to the one utopia vault, Wanderer supposed, it didn’t make it any less annoying though.
“Thank god for these glasses huh? Its damn bright in here.” Deacon muttered, shifting the weight in his arms.
She glanced up at him over the crate in her own hands, “Huh? When did you get those Dee?” She teased as they head towards the cafeteria of the vault, “Don’t think I’ve ever seen you with glasses on before.” 81’s resident cook, Mark had convinced her to go out searching for enough mutfriut to fill a bathtub in exchange for one of his wife’s ‘apple’ pies.

    Summary

She remembered hearing a clicking sound and then… Deacon yelling something. Her name, maybe? Her name, not Wanderer? She had to have heard wrong. Why would he say that while they were working a job? Hell, he hardly said it anyways. And why was she on the ground? They needed to go tell PAM that the D.I.A. cache was secured. There wasn’t time to be laying down in a suspiciously warm puddle.

A puddle? Why was she in a puddle?
