Makoto Naegi is a small-time fanfic writer online, and writes for a variety of fandoms whenever he can. When he gets accepted to Hope's Peak Academy, he suggests the idea of writing about his new classmates to his audience, whom excitedly support him on it. This is the story of how such a small idea can spiral out of control, and how online things can impact the real world.
Many of the shipping tags will be cited in the chapter titles, and are the focus of the individual chapters. Any other ships will be part of the overall narrative. However, everything plays into the overall story, as the story is chronological. Be aware of narrative plot points being included in the ship-centered chapters.
While this fic is rated Explicit, all chapters are rated Teen unless stated otherwise in the notes before each chapter. Summary
Despair is, implicitly, something to be tempered - like chocolate for a lover. Not the fettering chain but the purr into one's inner mind, seducing and alluring the deprived and the lonesome. Junko had learned from her mistake with class 78's fall, and resolves to induce the taut spiral of despondence with the careful graduation her cherished classmates deserved.
The precursor of despair is but humble doubt - raw, unfiltered, dubious, pawing at resolve with its mere presence alone. All doubt needs to fester is possibility, which the games at their purest draw out in tainted, toxic spades. And possibility promised entertainment, so she'd allowed the odd indulgences amidst her meticulous machinations: A living sister, her first of many to come. Where shall they attempt to take it, before the burden of choice enacts its unforgiving toll, and the mistakes that damn them are no one's to claim but their own?

She sighed, biting her lip. “Steel yourself, Kyoko,” she said in an even tone, “if you don’t confront Junko now, you’d have failed everyone.” God, how she hated that word. Failure. But she knew there’d be more of it if she didn’t act and apprehend the Mastermind, lest everyone else suffer for her inaction. If there’s one thing she despises, it’s knowing about the suffering of others and doing nothing to assist in such; she can attest as well as anyone that everything she could do in the endangerment of others comes first from inaction. She had to act, lest things escalate further.
With a knowing sigh, Kyoko input the secret bricks to give way to the Mastermind’s lair.

In a different version of the tale you know, Kyoko ends up getting involved a bit too early than Junko anticipated thanks to the recovery of a certain Escape Button, and seeks to confront the Mastermind. Unfortunately, as Kyoko is quick to learn, 'no' doesn't mean 'no' in Junko's vocabulary.
