    Summary

Keith, a trader from a river on the edge of civilization, is captured and sold into slavery, ending up in the heart of one of the great kingdoms of antiquity, the Keft of King Minos. His ultimate destiny: to be tossed into the legendary Labyrinth, located inside a mountain on an island archipelago called Qhera. Alongside seven youths and seven maidens offered in tribute from a backwater city, he is expected to meet his end-and, if he's especially unlucky, the Minotaur, a half-man, half-bull abomination said to eat human flesh.

But nothing about the Labyrinth, or it's legendary monster, is what it seems. Keith himself bears a burden that may ruin those who get too close to him. And no one has accounted for the the role the gods might play in the events about to unfold-for in the center of Qhera's waters lies a terrible secret that will change the world, and those who live to tell the tale, forever.

What if Icarus didn't die after his fall but simply got caught by Apollo? What if perhaps him flying too close to the scorching sun was never about reaching the heat but escaping his father?

    Summary

Icarus was never meant to fall.

Apollo knew that, from the moment they met -he knew that. This boy, this man, was someone who was meant to shine in his light and live, and live, and live. He shouldn't fall, he should never fall.

Yet everyone knows what happens when his wings starts to melt. When he drops into the sea.

But not everyone knows how the sun god dived into the cold water to pull him out. Nobody knows why he risked his own life at the hands of Poseidon's sea to save a mortal. Why he spent every waking hour pouring his healing energy into Icarus until he woke up.

Icarus fell but he did not die.

That's something they often leave out -that when he fell, it wasn't to his death, it wasn't because he flew too high. It's because he chose his fate; and he wanted the sun.

Most know the story of Icarus, the boy who flew too close to the Sun… but few know the story of his father. The inventor. The artist. The man who could build palaces out of mere desire. Daedalus was much more than his son’s legacy. This is his story.

There was so much to explore and so much to do! How could a man not be excited to be this high in the sky? Icarus didn’t quite understand his father’s paranoia and trepidation, but he would calm down and fly next to his father.

Until the sun finally relieved itself from behind the clouds.

    Summary

In the halls of Minos, King of Crete, a boy is born. His mother named him Helle, a son to be feared by gods, his father Icarus, a son destined to live following in his brother’s footsteps. But Icarus has neither the wit of his father nor the beauty of his mother. After he meddles with the divine destiny of a son of Pasiphaë, he is banished to an island with only his father and his music as companionship. For all that Icarus lacks in the eyes of mortals he makes up for in bravery, an attribute that is viciously alluring to the gods. But there is danger for a mortal who dares to test the gods, and Icarus finds himself forced to make an unfathomable choice: the mortal family he was born from or the divine lover he holds dear.

    Summary

Daedalus warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, but the boy did not listen to his father. He fell into the sea when, after rising too close to the sun, the wax in his wings melted and fell apart.

    And that was the story.

    That’s how the tragedy went.

So, why the hell are you not dead?

“Cause fuck you that’s why.” Icarus said while crossing his arms.

or: Icarus is not gonna let this narrator bitch let him die. Fuck that.

or or: Author is a greek mythology nerd and wanted to make a crack rendition of it... also kinda inspired by The Stanley Parable.

    Summary

Apollo is the God of the Sun and Music. Beautiful, beautiful Apollo: He brings the morning. Splits the night sky and taints it with splotchy vermillion and sepia, kisses it until it’s blushing against the earth.
And every afternoon, he sits in solitude on a beach and plays his lyre.
Then comes Icarus. Son of the infamous craftsman Daedalus. It is said that one day the boy’s father strapped wings to both of their backs so they could fly away and escape Crete together. Icarus ignored Daedalus’s warnings and flew too close to the sun. His wings wilted away and he fell into the sea.
But maybe his lips stabbed Apollo’s before they kissed the waves.

    Summary

Fate can be a cold thing. Icarus learned that the hard way when he went from nobleman to prisoner over his father’s crimes to the king. Trapped as he may have been, his father was unwilling to lay idle, and made them wings of wax and feathers to bear their escape. He had many worries about their flight, but his son’s disobedience wasn't among them.

Icarus flew too close to the sun and learned that fate, while cold, could also be very, very hot. His wings melted and he fell into the ocean bellow where he drowned before washing up on an island. There, he was nursed by its lone inhabitant, Myron. The skilled Apollo devotee had sought refuge there years prior after receiving the blessing of truth. The gift, however, had proven to be much more of a curse.

Together, they built paradise, but little did Icarus know that he was also a child of Apollo, and his destiny was just beginning.

Here's my own version of the Myth of Icarus. It can normally be summarized in two sentences but I wrote it in more of a story format. Of course I had to fill in places with my own imagination. Like Icarus' age for example.
