Wieder steigt Robert Langdon jene Treppenflucht hinunter, welche zu Maria Magdalenas ehemaliger Ruhestätte hinabführt. Bei seinem Eintreten kniet er nieder, um die Blume in der uralten, brüchig gewordenen Tonvase durch eine frische Rosenknospe zu ersetzen.
Wieder steht er vor den Regalen, welche die Gralsdokumente enthalten.
Nur, dass er diesmal nicht hergekommen ist, um eine der Schriftrollen zu entnehmen und ihren Inhalt voller Ehrfurcht zu studieren. Diesmal fügt er dem Archiv eine weitere Urkunde hinzu. Ganz unten, am rechten Rand der Regale...Wieder gedenkt er jener Ereignisse, welche ihn, am heutigen Tag aufs Neue, hierher geführt haben...

The angel Aziraphale is tasked with thwarting Hells schemes involving; the illuminati, the pope, four cardinals and some antimatter. Heaven's "straight forward" plan, however, is thrown when the demon Crowley turns up to take credit for the murder of the pope. Realizing there is more to the mystery than Heaven or Hell has let on, the pair set out to save the day using art, science and the very history they have lived.
In this AU I will be tearing Dan Brown's Angels & Demons to shreds and rebuilding it as the fun dumb Good Omens mystery fic it was meant to be all along. For the purpose of this story the canon apocalypse plan has not been put into motion.

When he woke up, the ringing was gone, but his whole body ached and his whole left side felt like it was burning. He relaxed into the pain, hoping that would help, but he heard shuffling to the side again and blinked open his eyes as best he could before trying to turn once more to face the sound.
“No, sir, please don’t do that again, you need to lay down” a calm voice prompted him. The voice was male, but that was all he was able to focus on. A firm hand pushed him back into a laying position and he tried to open his mouth to talk back but nothing would come out. Damn his body for being so weak. He squirmed under the hand and a ripping pain seared through his left shoulder and all down his side. He gasped out in pain and the hand was removed before a cold, wet cloth was pressed into his forehead, stroking along his face as his breathing evened out.
“I told you not to move” that same voice sighed out at him. Did the man have a right to be exasperated? Probably, but that didn’t stop him from grunting back in dissent. The cloth stayed on his forehead and the man moved away again, grabbing something and setting it in his lap. Was the guy sitting? He felt a hand on the back of his head, raising it a bit up. -

Once more Robert Langdon is descending the flight of stairs to Mary Magdalene’s erstwhile hiding place. On his entry he kneels down to replace the flower in the ancient clay vase with a fresh rosebud.
Once more he is standing in front of the shelves containing the Grail’s documents. Only this time he does not come to take and study a scroll of parchment, but to add one to the right bottom shelf instead.
Once more he is contemplating the events that brought him back here...
This is my version of an epilogue to the film ‘The Da Vinci Code’, dealing with the unresolved romantic tension in the relationship between Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu.
