“At some point many millions of years in the future,” I said, “this planet’s sun will explode and all life here will die.”
“In the cells,” Dacey said, “I thought about death. My death. Ways to die. Sometimes I hoped for it. I thought of being hanged, beheaded, burned, strangled, speared, stabbed, poisoned, shot with arrows, drowned, crushed by rocks, eaten by bears. Never, ever did Dacey think she’d die from the sun exploding.”
“When you expect to be dead by forty,” Tansy said. “A thousand years might as well be a million.”
“You,” I said, “have been staring into infinity.”
“And what did you see?”
She stopped, took my face in her hands, then kissed me.
“That I want to spend it with you.”
Cersei made a retching sound as though she vomited.
“The last time that you ridiculed our love,” I reminded her, “I killed you with a spork.”
John Carter and Dejah Thoris of the Burroughs novels are mis-directed to the world of Game of Thrones, fulfilling two separate prophecies. Carter is a Confederate officer; his ideas might be considered unenlightened. Dejah is very good at killing people, but she feels bad about it.

Westeros comes apart at the seams after the destruction of King's Landing and the death of Daenerys Targaryen. Jon Snow departs to Beyond the Wall, where winter no longer holds sway over the land, running from his name, his heritage, and his duty.
But when a new threat rises from across the sea, and forces him to come back to everything he'd thought he'd escaped from, he learns that Alliser Thorne was right: Jon is destined to fight their battles forever.
Takes place after season 8, with three major divergences: Rhaenys/Aegon live, Jon is named Aemon Targaryen, and Bran does not become King; rather, Westeros splits into independent kingdoms.
COMPLETE as of 7/14/2021. Might undergo minor revisions, but it's done :)

When Jon Snow commits treason and plunges his blade into Daenerys' breast, the Lord of Light is not finished with Azor Ahai. Drogon lands in Volantis--Quaithe mysteriously arrives to guide Kinvara. By sacrifice, amid smoke and fire and blood, Daenerys again takes breath, damaged and twisted by her death, but remembering three cardinal convictions, three objectives to guide a second chance at life: Liberty, Revenge, and Family. The world overturns in War, and a young girl from the aristocracy of Old Volantis is challenged by her family's ancient connection to the Dragon Queen. This story is beta-read and directly contributed to by Wardown, and inspired by discussions with him, as well as a request to Wardown by Morrika. Chapters in which Wardown contributes with full scenes are attributed as such.
