Starts twelve years after the end of "Stuck In the Middle With You". It is recommended you read "Stuck" before this one, for context on what is happening here.
An alternate universe where Qui-Gon Jinn never dies, Dooku leaves the Jedi Order but never goes Sith - becoming the Grandmaster of the New Je'daii Order (grey Force users) on Tython, a wild planet rich in the Living Force that holds many mysteries. The Je'daii and the Rebel Alliance stand against the genocidal Republic, with the Jedi headed by Anakin Skywalker, who now calls himself Vader (The Father), on a crusade to wipe out "Dark Side heretics". Anakin's children, Luke and Leia Skywalker, were raised on Tython by Padmé and Ahsoka; Han Solo was raised by Dooku and Sev (an OMC), and is an adult now. Han and Leia build a family together, and Sev and Dooku's relationship evolves and grows deeper and stronger.
As this is set in an alternate universe, there may be OOC moments. Please note the "Crack Treated Seriously" and "Alternate Universe - Crack" tags.
This story is told in first person POV, with multiple rotating narrators.

“... has he… gone insane?” Hubert asked, finding no other viable explanation.
During the entirety of this interaction, Manuela had been present in the room. She had been off to the side, sitting at her desk, head resting glumly in her hands while Dorothea and Marianne attempted to wrangle Ferdinand. It was only after Hubert’s question that she spoke up, to offer her professional opinion on the matter.
“He thinks he’s Don Quixote,” she said, bluntly.

Ferdinand, in the midst of battle, suffers a terrible knock to the head. When he awakens, he becomes convinced that he is not the general of an Adrestian army, but rather the noble and pure hearted knight named 'Don Quixote' from a popular Adrestian opera.
Hubert is tasked with looking after the man, until he regains his memory.

“You did a wonderful job, Number Five,” she informs him. The soft rasp of her voice makes him feel dizzy. He’s not used to this.
“You’re welcome.” He’s meant to sound strong, proud, but it comes out too quiet, too shy, and he feels himself flush red. She laughs - perfect and human, everything Five had begun to miss - and kisses him hard enough to stain his lips red, too.
