    Summary

The building of Cair Paravel was an enormous undertaking; one of the largest in Narnia's history, it is believed by many.

To design "the castle upon the hill", as it is known, was in itself an insurmountable task: at first, it was believed by all to be Sisyphean, devious in its intricacy.

    Impossible.

At the veil of hopelessness, however, Aslan sent a boon. A Son of Adam, fresh from the waters of the Earthen Pacific Ocean; filled with the thinly clothed desolation characteristic of a newly-made and decisively penniless orphan in nineteenth-century Hong Kong, the territory recently ceded to the British.

Narnia looked into the eyes of the boy, filled with wonder and the remarkably familiar silhouette of a certain castle in more detail than the most seasoned Oracle could muster, and named him Architect.
