Jisung cradles his hand now, and though he can’t see the look on his face, he knows he’s scowling. Maybe even lowering his head in shame, like they all do, but he can't be bothered. He’s not here to cheer Jisung up, to let him know that things are going to be alright. They might not be. And he doesn’t care where Jisung ends up, really. Things are not alright with them to begin with, so why pretend like it will be? False hope gets you nowhere, but disappointments deliver you straight to the grave.
