5 Works in Cady Longmire/Mathias
09 Dec 2018
There are over 560 federally recognized American Indian and Alaskan Native tribes in the U.S. and yet comprehensive data on violence against the women under tribal jurisdiction does not exist because no federal, Indian agency nor organization systematically collects this information. These women are relegated to the shadows.
Names lost. Faces forgotten. Hope abandoned.
Chief Mathias Stillwater has not forgotten them. He has not abandoned them. He will not give up on them without a fight, no matter the cost.
Sheriff Cady Longmire has learned the truth. She has seen the faces of the forgotten. She has heard their names and watched justice pass them by, leaving them to their fates.
Cady gets stuck waiting in the Bronco while her dad investigates a crime scene... again. Fortunately it's a little better view than average.
- Part 6 of Assorted Tumblr Prompts
10 Apr 2018
Just weeks after the shooting at her clinic, Cady Longmire is struggling in the aftermath, trying to piece her life back together. Throwing herself into her work, she begins to work with Mathias on cases that reveal the darkness on the reservation, and her growing attraction to the reserved and enigmatic police chief. Can she and Mathias work to banish the darkness and find joy in each other?
She needs to stop imagining the future, and force herself to remember there's still beauty in the world.
Mathias doesn't understand what's fascinating him about Cady until it's too late. He's kind of a womanizer. He's not supposed to have crushes.
