“Three hours and not one damn bird in sight!” It came out quite a bit louder than he had intended, and if this trip had been about comic timing instead of hunting, then he would for sure have won a trophy, because as if on cue his outburst was answered by the distinctive yelp-like call of a hen somewhere unseen.
