Summary
Dr Billy Cartwright - brilliant pathologist and serial womaniser. He finds something to halt his wanderings, to soothe his fraught brow. A new mechanism to cope with the utter brutality of dealing with the horrors of his work, especially this new, terrible case.

A fic revolving around the character of Billy Cartwright, played by the gorgeous Paul Ritter, in the Vera TV series, also pulling some pieces from the books by Ann Cleeves. In the books he is a Crime Scene Manager, in the TV show he is a pathologist, so this will be a mix of both of those, usually distinct, roles. I've given him the title of 'Dr' here, as he probably is one, if he's a pathologist. He may even be a consultant (his title then would be 'Mr') or a Professor (just like Randolph!). But I kept him as a Dr for simplicity's sake. Sorry Billy! Please forgive me?

-I really can't draw, so I have to weave a picture with words for Paul instead.
-Written for Paul Ritter and the plethora of characters he played over the years of his prolific career. He isn't gone, he's just resting.
I hope I do his characters justice. Every one of them was played to such perfection by him. He's a hard act to live up to!
He made it so that I could almost touch them as I watched him dancing across the screen.
