Summary
Derek had never actually seen Stiles in his full dragon form. If he was being honest with himself, he wasn’t sure he wanted to. The first time Derek had properly met Stiles, spoken with him, he’d had a hard time not reacting to the heat of him, far too reminiscent of the lick of flames at Derek’s skin. Dragons exuded heat, Derek had known that, intellectually. They might look like cold-blooded reptiles but they were creatures of fire.
Derek did not have good memories of fire. Stiles couldn’t have been expected to remember that, but it hadn’t helped that he’d focused on Derek with those impossibly wide eyes of lustrous brown and then let out of a puff of marijuana-scented breath and announced he’d take Derek instead of a sandwich.

Summary
Azar’s throat works for a moment, eyes on his face. Bernard holds still, as if she is one of the deer from the preserve, waiting.
“I have brought you a gift, tr--” she cuts herself off. “I went for a swim. And caught you this.” She holds up the fish, lifting it toward him.

Summary
You weren’t supposed to be able to recognize your mate until you were an adult, until you both had come into your own and become "the person you were going to be" or some feelingsy bullshit like that. That's what Keith's Pop always said. And good thing too, because being Rejected by a mate was the kind of horror story no werewolf ever liked to talk about. Like losing a spouse of 50 years. Like your body was eating itself alive, trying to make up for the fact that you'd been left by the one person the universe thought you were fated to be with. You'd live through it, but it would hurt.
Too bad Keith has always been a fucked up kind of were.

Summary
Nothing was inherently interesting about the idea of this freshman wolf, soon to be a sophomore, becoming an adult and going on with his life. And Tarō wasn’t interested, per se. Wasn’t worried, or curious, or anything to make Mishi judge him.
He was… irked. And it was unbearable. Like a debt he couldn’t pay. Like a thorn in his paw and an itch between his ears and the worry that his spark might be gone and he had to check.

Summary
Too many stories and not enough stories, thousands upon thousands of them in the room as they were in Edgar’s mind. But to others it was hushed, and the crackle of the fire was peaceful, so they would often come to sit on the couch and listen to him talk about stories as if they believed what humans did—that storytellers were Seers. That was why Edgar was shown respect although he was a dragon with no treasure of his own.
But he certainly didn’t feel wise or all-seeing. He felt slow and foolish, half-lost in a graphic novel about love and unable to pull himself completely free.

Summary
Of all the Beings that revealed themselves to humanity following the first World War, dragons are still the most feared and awed. And why not? They are powerful and mysterious, hoarding treasure and performing magic.
For their part, dragons seem quietly amused by public opinion and do little to discourage it. They adapted to the changing world with aplomb, taking on new, more approachable forms. But that doesn’t mean they aren’t still dragons.

Will was Nursey’s treasure. Well, Will and a significant portion of the occupants of the Haus. But Will was up there, probably, on the list in Nursey’s head.

Summary
Treasure, Will thought with an angry little snort. Nursey called almost everyone on the team treasure. He called Ford treasure. He’d even called Coach Hall treasure once.
He did not call Will that.
That was probably Will’s fault. Knowing that didn’t make Will feel any better about it.
