Los Angeles, 1950. A rookie cop on the edge. A detective at the margins. A city ready to be reborn. This is THE WINE-DARK SEA, a pop-culture pulp mashup, written in the treatment style of a screenplay, presented in three acts. (This is also why the first appearance of every character is in CAPITALS.) Combines multiple fandoms and stacked with references both obvious and obscure.

Maybe it's best just to stare out across the water and remember that even pictures can lie.
