A part of his shirt falls away when Svlad turns to look at Colonel Riggins and Bart sees the glint of metal, the dots of grating, finally registers the odd noise as the whir or wiring and gears.
Bart realises what's so wrong with Svlad. "He's an android." Bart says, slowly.
(In which Blackwing created androids, but didn't realise that the androids could be programmed to want revenge.)

“I figure, stuff started to go wrong when I tried to kill you, so you’re the starting point,” Bart explained. “I backtracked back to you, and now I’ll choose a different path, and stuff will make sense again. I’ll kill the people I’m supposed to kill, and I won’t try to kill the ones I’m not, and the universe will stop being broken. Okay?”
