Do we remember that time in Young Justice Season 2 when Batman ran off with the rest of the Justice League leaving Nightwing to take care of the team, Gotham City, Bludhaven, and the secret operation he was running with Kaldur? Yeah, WHY DID NO ONE TALK ABOUT THIS ON THE SHOW!?!? (poor Dick must've been running himself ragged). Anyway, this is what I think could've happened in Gotham during that time period. Beware, there is plenty of angst, canon-level gore and violence, feels, and more.

Dick sat a with his feet dangling off the edge of a building in midtown Gotham, filling his lungs deeply with the disgusting air around him. It was the first time he felt like he could actually breathe since agreeing to moonlight as Batman while Bruce went to international court with the rest of the Justice League. Between his responsibilities to the team, his secret operation with Kaldur, dealing with the hellhole that was Bludhaven and playing dress up as Batman with Tim, Dick found that he had no time for himself or really anything other than sleep. So a moment to breathe air unhindered by a mask was refreshing -

Turns out, getting body swapped all over the place was the easy part of the night. Now comes the hard bit.
Robin and Spoiler have to follow the trail of a child who now has godlike powers with no idea how to use them and no idea she's bleeding to death. Sparrow has to keep the idiot mage who got them into this alive come what may, be it gangs, crazy mothers, car wrecks and the mage's sparkling personality. Batgirl has to find said idiot mage's father, the only one they know with a hope of setting this whole screwball caper right. All they have is their wits, determination, and their phones.
They're all going to have to question what makes a good hero, what makes a good father, what makes a good doctor and what makes a good team mate.
And they all have to do this fast, or the curse on Sparrow's and the lost child's bodies is going to come due and kill whomever is inside of them.
Eventually, the sun's going to come up. The clock is ticking...

Perhaps it was that Dick Grayson was always in motion. Barbara couldn’t help but be drawn in. His movements were always choreographed and seemed to be fluid as a dancing flame. It’s what Barbara wanted to be. She craved that freedom: to move when and as she pleased. But after years of her mother’s glare and teachers tuts and off tellings, Barbara quit. Now she sat still with her books and worked. Perhaps she was drawn to Dick in the same way she was drawn to dance. Both allowed for that rush she craved.
How tragic it was that they both lay so still. There was no way to maneuver so that she could check his wound. The best she could do was twist her left arm under one of her legs to brush his arm. She could just reach his wrist for a pulse.
As long as his heart was still beating she would be calm. She had to figure this out. She had to save him. After all that bullet was meant for her.After Barbara's brother traps them them at the bottom of Gotham Bay, Barbara knows she can't wait for help. She has to get them out, after all she can't leave him, not when he saved her first.

This is a story about a new family, pollen, and a supposedly unknown father. Who would have thought that Ivy's pollen could lead to something so 'astrous? Though from the looks of the teams and Nightwing, it doesn't seem that way… at least not yet.
