Summary

His vampire loathing objected to accepting the offer, but the want to leave his father forever won. So now he has to work with them despite the consuming hatred he feels every time he encounters them. But who knows, maybe some blood-sucking creature with sweet blue eyes and dark silky hair will make him want to squeeze his throat in a more peaceful and pleasurable way.

Stephanie was back as good as new, finding her footing as a hero once again. All of the scars from her near-death were completely healed. But the scars from before the shell shocking incident? The scars that vandalized her mind? The scars that always drove her on a compulsive need to overcome her fears and doubts, to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt she could be a hero? Well those wounds were still as open and raw as they were long before she died.
But she’d be damned before she let anyone know of the turmoil that constantly ravaged her mind. Would this second chance end with her embracing herself and the hero she could be? Or would she succumb to her insecurities yet again and fall down a different path?
(Slight AU after the War Games story arc in the comics when Stephanie returned and took up the Batgirl mantle. Stephanie is one of my favorite characters due to her complex characterization as one in constant need to prove herself to everyone--including herself--and be a hero in her own right. This story takes a detour from the comics as I wanted to explore her psyche even further and get to the question on everyone's minds: Who is Stephanie Brown, the person and the hero? And can she even be the latter?)

Алек любив чорний чай (взагалі-то, будь-який, проте тільки в чорному достатньо кофеїну, щоб не дозволити йому заснути над черговими документами на підпис), гучну музику (особливо рок - під нього легше сушити голову без фену), нічні зливи і Брена - чорного непородистого кота, якого знайшов під час однієї з таких злив. Брен, тобто Бренді, бо очі в того були золотавого відтінку, і коли Алек хотів назвати його Хані - від слова мед, кіт неабияк заперечив. Ну, наскільки це було можливо з позиції кота.
Магнус любив людей, які не заважають працювати і не дістають (або, хоча б, не сильно дістають!), винаходити нові смаки коктейлів, захід сонця і свою котячу форму (але, абсолютно точно, не свої очі). Магнус не любив рок - той дуже бив по його котячих вухах - та коли його кликали Хані.
