Summary
Jiang Yanli had always tried to be the glue which kept her family together and more or less functioning. It was hard but she never complained and carried the burden by herself. The only break she gets is when Wei Wuxian and Jiang Cheng go study to the Cloud Recesses.

Summary
"Why don't you guys say you love me?" Wei Wuxian asks, he felt both men freeze. They look at eachother unsure what to say. So Wei Wuxian continues.
"I mean Lan Zhan you married me but never said you loved me. I had always assumed you just didn't know how to show your emotions, but after being married for three years you haven't changed. I also thought when we invited Lan Huan things would be different, but I think I know now why you both won't say it. You don't love me, but you love eachother. I think you just married me so you guys can be together." Wei Wuxian tells them. Both brothers were still tensed and, were at a lost for words. When the brothers still haven't said anything, Wei Wuxian nodded his head.
"No answer huh. I guess I'm correct." Wei Wuxian whispered, just when Lan Wangji wanted to say something, the doorbell rang. Wei Wuxian pushes the brothers arms off him, and makes his way to the door. When he opens it, it revealed two young women in revealing outfits. They look at Wei Wuxian up and, down a look of disgust on their face.

"Ow!"
A sharp pain shoots through his right arm, and Jiang Cheng hisses, ripping his hand away from the string, only to open his palm and see a thin, clean cut from just below his pinky to his wrist, with droplets of blood already starting to well up at the edges of the cut. What previously felt like a bunch of ants biting his hand had quietened down into a dull buzz that thrummed under his skin, spreading to the rest of his arm.
In the midst of the sting that the cut brought upon him, the fresh reminder of his inadequacy, the disappointment in his mother's eyes, and the feeling that his home was no longer a place of comfort faded away as Jiang Cheng found himself gravitating towards the string again like a moth to a flame.
