Wei Wuxian attendait d’avoir l’occasion de faire sortir Wen Chao de Nightless City. Il eut de la chance quand il découvrit un club exclusif hors du territoire des Wen que l’homme fréquentait. Le seul problème était que le club était dirigé par Hanguang-Jun, la rumeur voulait qu'il soit l'exécuteur N°1 des Lan, et qu'il était pratiquement impossible d’y entrer. Les seules personnes dont l’entrée était garantie étaient les VIPs (ce que Wei Wuxian n’était absolument pas), ou n’importe quel omega que Hanguang-Jun baisait ce mois-là. Wei Wuxian correspondait à son type, il décida donc de se faire passer pour la dernière conquête en date, une nuit pendant laquelle l’alpha ne serait pas en ville et ne pourrait donc pas vérifier son identité.Malheureusement, leur intel était fausse. Hanguang-Jun était en ville.

Wei Wuxian had been waiting for a chance to get Wen Chao outside of the main Wen compound in Nightless City. He lucked out when he discovered an exclusive club outside of Wen territory that the man frequented. The only problem was that the club was run by Hanguang-Jun, rumored to be the top enforcer of the Lan crime family, and it was nearly impossible to get in. The only people who were guaranteed admittance were VIPs (which Wei Wuxian was definitely not), or whichever omega Hanguang-Jun happened to be fucking that month. Wei Wuxian fit his general type, and decided to pose as the newest flavor on a night when the crime lord would be out of town and unable to verify his identity or not.Unfortunately, their intel was wrong. Hanguang-Jun was not out of town.

Bright lights illuminated the streets and the rambunctious shouts of the street vendor added to the charitable atmosphere. Street kids left their corner of the side alley and flooded into the main street in the hopes of getting lucky and perhaps pickpocketing a particularly wealthy merchant or needling generous food donations from the people drunk on festive cheers.

Wei WuXian almost died during Jin ZiXun's trap. He would have retaliated with all his might if it weren't for A-Yuan being terrified and right behind him and Wen Ning. Instead of killing Jin ZiXuan, he was hit by a fatal arrow in the heart while trying to protect the little boy. After disappearing from the cultivation world for five years he was... "invited" in a rather peculiar way to help two great sect leaders in a problem with their sworn brother.

Lan XiChen knew his younger brother like no one else. He knew him well enough to know that seeing Wei WuXian again after all those years of not knowing anything about the young master would make WangJi do something extreme. In order to be aware of what would happen and to help, ZeWu-jun proposes a sort of alliance with Wen Qing. Together, they come up with a well-crafted excuse to leave them alone for a while.

The plan was to infiltrate the Wen Prince's Auction to rescue Lady Wen's people as well as Lan Wangji's fellow Familiars. For them to follow Lady Wen's lead out of the castle and reunite with Wei Ying on the other side. But that plan changes as Lan Wangji is unable to follow and must fight his way alone through the castle to get home.

Resentful energy of the worst order swirled around him, calling him back, back, back to those graves, back to the primal form of the burial mounds where he had been reborn. The wheel’s rapid, erratic clicking like music to his ears, his eyes shone an unnaturally bright red of a bygone time, and he had not been this non-human in quite a while.
Seconds passed. Centuries passed. Time stilled, time ran, time smiled down upon him from her throne of thorns in the sky. He was dead, dead, dead, but he had never been thrumming with more life.
It felt like coming home. It felt like losing everything he had.
Cool, golden eyes. A whisper, a long, white ribbon, embroidered with clouds. He smiled. Maybe this was farewell for good, after all that had happened. They both always, always forgot just how fragile life was, even after all these years. He hoped A-Yuan remembered him this time.
